Osteria del Binari In Milano

A splendid place that takes you back in time. The food is always delicious and well-prepared. An interesting wine list reflects passion and expertise, with markups appropriate for Milan and the type of establishment. For me, a place close to my heart.

Mosto is very nice; even though it's spacious, you never feel like you're in a big room. The atmosphere is very attentive to detail, welcoming and warm. Exceptional food and friendly staff. The only caveat is that service can be a bit slow when there are a lot of people, but nothing unbearable. It's nice to chat at the tables while nibbling on crudités. 😊

I went with my partner and children, and an Italian couple who had made a reservation. Given the name "osteria," we expected something more traditional and less formal. The restaurant itself is very nice, but the feeling of an Italian osteria immediately disappears. It's more of a restaurant that borders on a rather posh, mid-range luxury establishment. We ate traditional Milanese dishes, such as rice with saffron and bone marrow, another with liver, tagliatella marinara, and other dishes. We ordered a bottle of wine. The bill was quite expensive, and given the quality of the food, I personally don't think it's justified. The tagliatella lacked flavor, although the seafood was fresh, but the sauce was bland and tasteless. The rice was cooked finely, but the pan-fried rice was very hard. I won't be back.

The atmosphere is very charming, with many different rooms and a beautiful garden. The lunch was delicious.

I went there for a birthday party I organized for my partner, who was turning 30. There were 10 of us. The food was good, I can't deny it, but honestly, I found it a bit expensive. I understand the area, I understand everything, but for some dishes, the prices are truly exaggerated. I don't think I've ever seen the waiter who served us smile, not even by mistake. But no big deal. They didn't have a red wine on the menu, and they assured me that if I got another one (from the more expensive menu), I'd pay the same as the other one. I said, okay, so be it. I also mentioned it at the cashier when paying, and the lady, also a man of few words and no smiles (I'm paying you almost €600 for dinner, you could smile), nodded at me almost as if to say, "Yes, I know." Stupid me for trusting them and not checking the receipt right away, because once I got home, I realized I'd paid more for the wine. I'll leave out the cost of cutting the cake and the booking deposit because, well... it's Milan, sometimes you have to deal with it.

A little paradise in a different way, an oasis of beauty in a busy city. I recommend with confidence and with all my heart! Qualified, welcoming and professional staff!

It's always a pleasure to return to this place. The atmosphere is super welcoming, the staff very kind and helpful, and the food is always excellent. Highly recommended!

Great spot! Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area. Come early or gets super busy. The eggplant parm is excellent as are the pastas. They also give free mortadella!!!

A maze of characteristic and pleasant spaces composes this beautiful inn, located in one of the busiest and most traditional areas of Milan. The quality of the dishes is overall good, but the quantity is lacking for the prices, which I found excessive. The wine prices are equally excessive, from a limited but quality list. The chocolate cake was dry. The service is courteous. I won't be returning...
