The experience was excellent, and the risotto alla Milanese with rustin negàa was sublime. I recommend trying it! The tranquil atmosphere allows you to recharge and decompress after a busy day at work.

What a wonderful discovery! We went for lunch yesterday to celebrate a birthday and found a welcoming place with a family atmosphere. The decor was very tastefully decorated and clean... the real surprise was the food: traditional Milanese dishes and more, generous portions, and exceptionally delicious. Reasonable prices, and the owner is friendly and welcoming... I highly recommend trying Osteria al Portone; everything from appetizers to dessert was exceptional!

Excellent typical Milanese dishes

When my brother arrived from Spain, and he'd expressed a desire to try some traditional Milanese dishes, I chose this restaurant at the recommendation of some friends. I booked for Tuesday, making sure that the menu (especially dishes like risotto, ossobuco, and cotolette) was available, despite the unseasonably hot weather at the end of May. The person on the phone (the owner, perhaps) was extremely courteous and took a few minutes to provide me with valuable menu details. The reservation was for 8:30 PM, traffic was "zero" (from Cernusco sul Naviglio), and parking was easy: Viale F. Testi was practically empty at that point. From the moment I entered, I had a very positive impression: the place was relatively small, the decor very warm and welcoming, the tables carefully set with pleasant details, and the background music was soft and unobtrusive. We were greeted by the only person who then attended to us and the other customers, presumably the same person I'd spoken to on the phone. Very friendly, helpful, generous with advice, and quick and precise in taking down our orders. We ordered what we'd been wanting for a long time: I had ossobuco in cremolada, my brother had a main course of ossobuco and risotto alla Milanese, my daughter had porcini mushroom risotto, and for the main course, mondeghili with baked potatoes. When the dishes arrived, each of us tried everything else: generous portions, very flavorful, and excellent quality. The risottos were perfectly creamed, the porcini mushroom one with sizable pieces of mushroom, exceptional mondeghili and perfectly cooked potatoes, my ossobuco was accompanied by dark polenta, of the perfect consistency. We would have liked to order more, but we were truly full and satisfied, and only my daughter had the courage to "go further," with a mascarpone cream dessert (the size of a thirty-year-old's stomach...) Bill: €94.00, including a bottle of good Cabernet... I'd say absolutely appreciable. What more could I say? To say we're completely satisfied is an understatement. Excellent restaurant with Milanese specialties! Menu with a wide selection of first and second courses! The risotto alla Milanese is delicious! The osso buco is excellent, the meat is so tender! 5 stars are not enough! The service isn't fast; but that's because all the products are freshly prepared and nothing is pre-cooked! A pleasant restaurant. We ate really well, but we suffered from the cold because the host kept the front door wide open. He said the temperature in the restaurant should be no higher than 21°C (70°F) after Covid, and that was the solution. Unfortunately, our table was between the kitchen entrance and the front door, so there was a draughty draft! The restaurant is small and crowded... maybe the solution for the temperature should have been something else! I can't eat in a jacket!
