The atmosphere was very intimate, with just a few tables and the sound of sparrows chirping. Two kittens wandered around, and the food was excellent.
The waitress was very courteous and helpful.
We enjoyed the first courses, and they were generous portions. On the other hand, the appetizers weren't... the portions were really small. There were two of us, and the cheese platter had half a ricotta cheese to share, a single mozzarella bite... and the charcuterie platter had just one piece of salami, a square of potato and parmigiana pizza... well... I'd reconsider the portions.

Yesterday, even though the service had ended (it was 2:30 pm), my wife, my Lagotto and I were greeted with a smile.
The dishes, strictly local, turned out to be genuine, tasty and ... decidedly abundant.
Nicla, the owner's daughter, turned out to be a very sweet and nice girl; we stayed to talk with her for a long time and she gave us a piece of her life.
It's a shame that we live far away, in the north, otherwise it would be really nice to have the opportunity to frequent this place assiduously both to taste their dishes and for the courtesy and friendliness.
If you are in the area, try it!

Nella località Montegrosso Osteria dei Massari rappresenta un' ottima scelta se, si vuole mangiare tipico pugliese.
L'Osteria dal clima familiare propone piatti della cucina contadina, piatti semplici e gustosi dall'antipasto ai primi cosi comeci secondi.
Spaghetti alla 'donato' piacevolissima sorpresa anche se non sempre li ho trovati disponibili (ci sono stato piu di una volta).
Proprietario simpatico e appassionato un vero oste.
Lo consiglio non solo per chi visita Castel del Monte ma a tutti coloro che vogliono sentirsi a CASA in puglia.
Tornerò ancora!

Dopo la visita a Castel del Monte, a soli 20 minuti di auto siamo approdate in questa osteria. Accolte dal simpaticissimo Oste Francesco abbiamo potuto apprezzare gli autentici sapori locali. Ingredienti freschi e dal gusto casereccio che ci fanno tornare a casa con il desiderio di tornare quanto prima.
