Really special place! The food was incredible, had a huge mixed plate of various starters and then a fantastic thing I've never heard of before, Testaroli, with walnuts. Fantastic! Thanks Nicolo for a great evening!

Conviviality is the watchword. We had dinner at this restaurant, which is certainly not a tourist destination, but is ideal for those who want to truly experience the spirit of Bolognese cuisine. The service was impeccable, attentive, and friendly, and the dishes were truly rich, tasty, and plentiful. They've recently added a piano, perhaps for entertainment while you wait. Highly recommended!

I'd heard about the historic Osteria dei Grifoni for years when I lived in Bologna, but I'd never had the chance to try it. I made up for it during a recent visit to the city, and I can say it was worth it, even if it had a few downsides. The first major plus is the place itself: an authentic Bolognese osteria built underground, as is tradition. It's one of the last remaining examples, and the atmosphere is made even more welcoming by a touch of elegance that never fails to impress. The menu is basic, with few options and no main courses, but the limited selection is clearly geared towards the quality of the ingredients. We started with the Osteria's platter, which includes almost all the appetizers on the menu: everything was excellent, although, in my opinion, the portions were small given the price per person. I was particularly impressed by the bruschetta, well-toasted and rich in filling; the carne salada, flavorful and accompanied by an excellent mayonnaise; and the horse meat strips, probably the best I've ever tasted. For our first course, we chose the osteria's signature dish: tagliatelle with ragù, the only Bolognese dish of the evening. The homemade pasta was truly excellent and cooked to perfection. The ragù, however, was a bit too juicy for my taste: I personally prefer it more concentrated, as it highlights the meat, which, in this case, was covered in tomato sauce. The mascarpone with biscotti and chocolate was also good, without being exceptional. The wine by the glass was excellent: it's been a long time since I've had such a pleasant Sangiovese. Kudos to the service: the staff are young, friendly, and exude that typical Bolognese welcome that makes you feel immediately at home. Prices are a bit high, partly understandable given the central location.

We booked for four people and had a wonderful time. The place was welcoming and the food was EXCELLENT. We had a large plate of the host's dish as an appetizer, and it was sublime. The first courses were spectacular! The staff were welcoming and extremely kind. The atmosphere was quiet and beautiful, perfect for a relaxing evening. The quality/price ratio was EXCELLENT!
