Very good restaurant in the historic center of Monteforte d'Alba. Several set menus from 28 euros to 80 euros (for truffle fans). Large selection of wine list. Reservations are essential. We ordered the first menu and each dish was delicious.

I was there a few days ago for lunch. The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I think the prices are reasonable, and you get what you pay for a good meal.

Nestled in the heart of Monforte d'Alba's historic center, Osteria dei Càtari is a pleasant discovery combining atmosphere, traditional cuisine, and a touch of creativity. The restaurant spans multiple spaces, with tastefully furnished rooms and a truly charming outdoor courtyard—perfect for a summer dinner amid the Langhe hills. The menu offers carefully reinterpreted traditional Piedmontese dishes. I tried the tajarin with butter and black truffle: simple yet perfectly executed, with a thin, flavorful pastry. The veal cheek braised in Nebbiolo was also excellent, tender and beautifully paired with a creamy mash. All this is accompanied by an extensive wine list, naturally focusing on the great Langhe reds. The service was friendly and attentive, without ever being intrusive. I also appreciated the willingness to accommodate food allergy requests: a thoughtfulness that is not always a given!!! Ideal for a romantic evening or a special occasion, with the added bonus of a warm and welcoming atmosphere that is hard to forget. I highly recommend it!

A welcoming and refined restaurant with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the dinner, always present but never intrusive. My family and I chose the menu, which consisted of a Monfortina appetizer, followed by homemade giardiniera. Next up was tajarin with Bra sausage ragù, followed by a Barbera-braised stew. We finished with a hazelnut trio. All the dishes were well-prepared: the Monfortina was excellent quality, the giardiniera fresh and crunchy, perfect for the start of the meal. The tajarin was the most popular dish, thinly sliced ​​and topped with a flavorful yet balanced ragù. The stew was tender and rich in flavor, while the dessert, with its three hazelnut textures, concluded the dinner with a truly delightful finish. Overall, an excellent experience: authentic Piedmontese cuisine, well-executed and served in a refined setting. Good value for money. Recommended.
