At the far end of Via delle Volte in Ferrara, I found a place that looks unassuming, almost hidden among the cobblestones and arches. I had pasta filled with pumpkin, a dish rooted in the local tradition, paired with a beautiful glass of Sangiovese. The food was extraordinary, simple in appearance yet unforgettable in flavor, easily one of the top ten dining experiences of my life. Forgive my poor photo of the dish! It did not do it justice. I am a terrible photographer.

Very good lunch with local and traditional dishes, very friendly welcome. We tried a platter of charcuterie and cheeses (enough as a main course for 2) and for dessert a tart each, 50 euros for 2. Very pleasant to have lunch served at a small table in the alley. The interior of the restaurant is also very pleasant.

Everything was amazing... starting from sitting along the beautiful Via delle Volte...
....after two years we returned to Ferrara, and for two evenings we enjoyed the kindness, expert advice, and high-quality products. In short, everything was perfect, from the salami with special bread and pickles, to the pumpkin tortelli, to the grilled tomino cheese with grilled vegetables!!!

I went to dinner at this trattoria this evening with a friend, driven by the desire to taste typical Ferrara dishes. It was a truly excellent experience that I would recommend to anyone who loves good, traditional cuisine.
We started with an appetizer of Zia Ferrarese, a typical cured meat that in this case proved to be of superb quality. The texture and flavor were perfect, a true calling card for the evening.
The highlight of the dinner, however, were the pumpkin cappellacci with ragù. I found them simply phenomenal. The pasta was thin, and the filling, just the right amount of sweetness, paired impeccably with a flavorful, well-prepared ragù. A true explosion of flavors that took me back in time.
The service was courteous and the atmosphere welcoming, helping make the evening even more enjoyable.
If you're looking for a place to savor the authentic flavors of Ferrara, this trattoria is undoubtedly a must-see. I can't wait to go back to try more dishes from their extensive menu!

Capitata x caso mi ha subito attirato il locale con le sue mille cose appese!!! Ma il mio stupore è stato nello scoprire l’ottima cucina ferrarese ed il suo vino insuperabile! Molto gentile tutto lo staff ed è con piacere che lo raccomando a chi come me non conosceva il posto!!!
