At Gemma you enter a trattoria that seems to have been frozen in time. You can still have a chat with Mrs. Gemma in the restaurant that is now run by her very good daughters. The choice is not excessive and the food is simple but very tasty, typical of the Venetian tradition. The experience ends with excellent homemade desserts. I recommend the trio of cod and the ricotta and fig dessert!

I found the environment very noisy. I found the food of average quality... but let's remember that it is a trattoria (with not very modest prices).

We have dined several times in this place which embodies the true Venetian tradition, always a guarantee. As usual we were welcomed with warmth and kindness, making us immediately feel at home.
The environment is simple and humble, but precisely for this reason it exudes authenticity and love for local cuisine (few seats).
The service was impeccable, with a professionalism and friendliness that is truly rare to find.
Each course gave us back the genuine flavors of the past, prepared with quality ingredients and with the passion of those who truly love tradition. Compliments to the cooks.
In conclusion, excellent traditional Venetian cuisine, familiar and attentive service, an atmosphere that feels like home with a good quality-price ratio
Old-time family-run trattoria. Spartan environment. Home cooking with traditional Venetian dishes. Recommendation: “nervetti” with onion, cod and tripe.
I was there on Sunday for lunch with my partner.
We had a very good time, good gnocchi with meat sauce, good stewed cod, excellent Vicenza-style cod. Excellent tiramisu. Trattoria of times gone by (and thank goodness) kind and friendly staff. Really honest prices. We will happily return.

This was the best meal I had during my recent trip to Italy. Gemma is indead a gem of a trattoria. They cook those forgotten dishes of the traditional Venetian cuisine that are difficult to find now: nervetti (tendons), aringa affumicata (smoked herring), seppie (cuttlefish in black ink), eel and three versions of baccala'. The food is to die for. Get the local wine (cabernet in the traditional osteria clear glass bottle). It is off the beaten path and a tad difficult to fins, but absolutely worth it
