Osteria da Gano In Siena

Excellent dinner! A very charming osteria in the center of Siena. Carefully presented dishes, excellent food, and good value. The service was attentive and very fast. Highly recommended!

We arrived around 1 PM for lunch, without any recommendation from anyone, just a quick internet search. As soon as I sat down, I immediately noticed from the atmosphere that the restaurant was only for locals, which is always a positive for me; despite some noise, the ambiance was pleasant. The service was quick, and the food was perfect. I especially recommend the two desserts, Tiramisu and Apple Tart, which were the stars of the meal. For starters, we had Chianina beef tartare, followed by Tagliata di Manzo and Rabbit with Sausage and Truffle Cream. Everything was perfect. It was accompanied by the house red wine. A negative note was the smell of food that lingered on our clothes; the kitchen's ventilation system needs improvement.

Excellent restaurant, with fair prices.

The restaurant is located near Porta Romana. The place is nothing special. But the food is very good. We had fried meatballs that melted in the mouth.. spaghetti with white ragu which was dreamy and the classic caccio e Pepe which was equally delicious. The only thing that was not good but I think it was of the day was the osmobuko which needed more cooking to soften it! Incredible tiramisu! Take the bulk wine they have which was very good. The service with a smile and always polite. The prices are slightly below those in Siena and the portions are good. If I were in Siena I would go again to try the other dishes…

First stop on a vacation with my boyfriend. We chose this osteria based on the excellent reviews, and I must say it was truly an excellent choice. The food was excellent, high-quality, and well-priced. The cacio e pepe pici and their homemade desserts are highly recommended. Truly delicious! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. Congratulations!

An evening with lifelong friends, the food was excellent and the price was more than reasonable. Or rather, as they say in Siena, "treated to the core." The host was friendly and attentive, and even entertained the table. Conviviality and hospitality are part of going out for dinner, not just the food. The atmosphere was perfect. The broccoli pesto was superb, and the sausage-stuffed rabbit was excellent. Delicious desserts and a quality house wine. Well done!

A perfect osteria. Fast and friendly service, located 5 minutes from Piazza del Campo, and very tasty food. From appetizers to dessert, everything is delicious! Pumpkin tart with pecorino cream, pici with cavolo nero and pancetta, tagliatelle with white ragù, capocollo, apple pie...etc...etc. And the bill doesn't bother your digestion. Well done. And I'd add that even in the summer, the PICI ALLA GRICIA SENESE is a delicious dish. 😋 The stuffed rabbit is also worth trying.
