It was my first time in Carnia, and I was pleasantly surprised by everything: the places, the people, and the food.
At the Osteria, besides having modern yet cozy rooms with lots of wood, they are very clean, comfortable, and beautiful. There's on-site parking. The breakfast is varied, with delicious, fresh, locally sourced products.
I also ate very well, with excellent-quality local dishes. The staff was very friendly and attentive to detail.
I highly recommend Osteria da Alvise!!!

A beautifully situated historic town—Sutrio is a gem—and the Osteria Da Alvise is the premier base for Carnic delicacies in this mountain region. Very friendly service, beautifully presented regional specialties such as Frico e Polenta, Cjarsons—the sister of Carinthian pasta—with herbs, as well as excellent sausages... followed by homemade pastries and a strong coffee... all at a more than fair price-performance ratio... We spent last weekend at this location (with the goal of climbing the Carnic peaks with the CDR Bike team), which is an excellent combination of tradition, local culture, and innovation. We felt at home! We were welcomed with great courtesy and attention by the family who runs both the restaurant and the rooms.
The cuisine is top-notch, with dishes expertly prepared by the chef. The rooms are beautiful and well-maintained, modern.
An experience to repeat and recommend. Thank you.

We came here for dinner as it was a recommendation from our host and it didn't disappoint. Lots of local dishes such as cjarson and frico are all very delicious, and if you're not driving, make sure to taste the selection of wines. Staff are welcoming and attentive. Overall, it was a very nice experience and would happily come back again. Recommend booking ahead.

The cuisine is exceptional
Typical dishes of Friulian cuisine. Excellent or cialzon but the tagliatelle with ragù are unbeatable
