Osteria Andreoli In Roma

Excellent food and a beautiful location, but the family-friendly atmosphere needs rethinking. We visited this restaurant while on vacation, drawn in part by the fact that our hotel is right on the same street. We didn't know it was such a chic and formal place, otherwise we would have opted for something else: for me, it's essential that my children (aged 1 and 3), especially when traveling, feel free and comfortable "being kids," without the anxiety of an overly rigid environment. The setting is undoubtedly splendid, very well-kept, and with soothing, soft lighting. There was nothing to complain about in terms of food: the amatriciana we ordered was simply excellent, expertly cooked. The prices are indeed a bit high, but the quality of the ingredients is undeniable, and it was absolutely worth it. Unfortunately, however, we weren't able to fully enjoy the evening due to the service. From the moment we entered (the restaurant was almost empty), we sensed a strange tension, as if the presence of children was making the staff feel uncomfortable. In particular, the blonde woman rushed to bring us the children's menu, strongly recommending spaghetti over other types of pasta because "they would cook faster." Maybe it was just our imagination, but we perceived it as a strong rush to get the little ones fed so we could leave as quickly as possible. This made us dine with a constant sense of unease, worried about disturbing them, even though the children were perfectly calm. In short: The restaurant gets top marks for its excellent cuisine and location, but a little more warmth and spontaneity toward families with small children wouldn't hurt at all.

Excellent experience, fast, courteous, and helpful service. I tried the fried calamari and two fish-based entrees, both delicious. My only complaint is the generous portions, which were slightly below expectations.

I came for dinner with friends. It was a great experience, and the food was excellent, especially the tagliolini cacio e pepe with tuna tartare, bottarga, and grated lemon. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

If you're looking for authentic carbonara, this is the place. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente and the sauce was mouthwatering. Kudos to the choice of guanciale, perfectly browned. The homemade tiramisu was also excellent! The staff was very helpful and friendly.

A wonderful find. Food was superb - are group had caponata di verdure, carciofi alla giudia, parmigiana, pici cacio e pepe, fish dishes from the daily special, filetto alle 5 spezie. These were all top-notch, perfectly prepared and presented, with fresh, flavourful ingredients. The service was warm and enthusiastic, with welcome advice on wines (an excellent list: well-selected, fairly priced) and amari. Quiet neighbourhood atmosphere, but city-centre quality. Worth crossing the city for, and if you're in the San Paolo area, a must. Torneremo presto!

A truly delightful evening with a wine tasting from the Vannelli winery. I already knew the place and always love returning because I love the atmosphere and the food, but evenings organized like this are truly a wonderful discovery. Excellent wines, thoughtful food, and successful pairings. It was a different experience than usual and very well done. I hope you organize more soon because they are truly worth it.
