For my first time in Bergamo, I relied on the Osterie d'Italia guide for dinner. As always, it confirms how much easier it is to find a restaurant that not only offers good food but, above all, a place that makes you feel welcome. Es Al Gigianca does this very well, first and foremost with the attention to detail—as soon as you enter, you sense a serene and intimate atmosphere—and then with the entire dining room staff, who are courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Angelica, a rare gem, and the owner, Luigi, a wine enthusiast, together were able to advise and guide me throughout the meal, offering truly impeccable service. The cuisine was excellent, and you could taste the quality of the ingredients in traditional and seasonal dishes. I loved the Casonsei and the poached egg with polenta and truffle. The wine list was extensive, and finally, very interesting desserts, but the most surprising was their Tiramisu. Something extraordinary, however, was the Malvasia Passito wine, which I ordered to accompany the desserts. So, thanks for brightening up a solo evening in a new city. If I ever find myself in Bergamo again, I'll definitely be back!

We had dinner at this restaurant. The atmosphere is charming, well-kept, and well-decorated. The menu is very interesting, with traditional dishes and more modern twists. The casoncelli pasta is excellent, as is the ravioli del plin. Delicious desserts. A good selection of wines. The price is fair; definitely worth a try.

The restaurant, which has nothing to do with an osteria, is beautiful. Very well-kept and pleasant. The staff is very courteous and attentive. The service is reasonably fast. We had an appetizer for two with two glasses of sparkling wine. Good. €32. Then we had two cod appetizers. Very good. I had tagliatelle with a white veal liver ragù. The pasta was hard and the liver flavor was monotonous. Just adequate. My wife's casoncelli were average. With dessert, a coffee, and a half bottle of wine, we came to €150. Markups are definitely too high for the quality of the food.

I went in this restaurant on February 13th 2026 following Osteria di Italia book. Place actually exceeded my expectations. They also helped me to choice for my lactose intolerance. Sheep was amazing so as pork meat. Thanks also for wine suggestion. I definitely suggest this place.

Beautiful atmosphere and delicious cuisine accompanied by excellent service!
We chose the traditional menu, and I must say that of all the dishes, my favorite was the creamed cod, soft potatoes, cabbage, and lake bottarga: simply exquisite. The giant Bergamo sheep belly with purple cabbage and apple sauce was also very enjoyable.
Good value.

A very refined atmosphere, exquisite food, and above all, incredibly kind staff.
Despite their specialty being meat, they went out of their way to offer vegetarian options to accommodate my needs even without me asking (meaning I would have ordered from the menu, and they offered to add more instead).
I especially enjoyed the caramelized onion puff pastry, as well as the vegetable and chard plinths.
I noticed the menu instructed people to keep their phones on silent so as not to disturb other diners, a measure I greatly appreciate as a lover of silence.
Highly recommended, and kudos once again to the staff, who were truly courteous, welcoming, and knowledgeable.
