The atmosphere is reminiscent of an old inn, in the best sense of the word, where you feel at home and immersed in the charm of days gone by. The food is very good. It's close enough to the Rialto Bridge but quiet enough to catch your breath while being pampered by the staff.

The vegetable risotto was velvety smooth and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, and was kind to speak English to us. The best part of all was the mousse though. It was literally the best I've ever had. It was so good that I will never, ever forget it.

One of the oldest osterias in the city, with a carefully curated menu and almost complete gluten-free options. The place is small, like many historic buildings, but well-organized and not chaotic. The owner was extremely kind and helpful. We ate well, and the price was reasonable.

Found this place on a reddit rec & was not disappointed. Small, almost hole in the wall ristorante with rich history and seemed to fill in with locals as the night went on. We started with the porchetta, which was delicious, however both my partner & I found multiple bone shards in the slices we ate (only reason for 4⭐️vs. 5 bec it wasn’t a one-off shard). My partner had the pumpkin gnocchi and I had the veal ragu papardelle. The gnocchi were tasty but the veal papardelle was the stand out for me—dare I say almost religious experience. I ended up asking for more bread so I could finish off the sauce. Would absolutely eat here again if we were in town for longer!

Osteria La Bottega ai Promessi Sposi

27/10/2025: In the somewhat secluded Rialto area, this small osteria is a pleasant surprise, serving traditional and non-traditional dishes, from appetizers to dessert. The atmosphere is intimate, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Prices are moderate, with generous portions and excellent ingredients. Reservations are recommended. We'll be back.
27/10/2025: I've known this place for years, and every time I'm in Venice, I always try to return. I had the pleasure of bringing my colleagues last Friday, and we were all very satisfied. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was casual yet elegant. Roberto served us with reverence, entertaining us and making us have a great time. Thank you, and see you next time.

DONA ONESTA

31/03/2026: I was walking by when I saw how pretty the terrace seating was, so I was drawn into the shop as if I were under a spell. I didn't expect much from the food, but it was so incredibly delicious that I ate every last bit of the sauce. Not only did I get the photos of a lifetime in Venice, but the atmosphere on the terrace by the canal was also the best. The staff were very friendly, and the coffee tasted great. I was also grateful for the complimentary limoncello they gave me at the end.
30/03/2026: This place has a really good atmosphere. The bruschetta was honestly the best thing we had, super fresh and full of flavor. The 4 cheese gnocchi was decent, just a nice, simple dish. The lobster spaghetti was okay, but a bit of a letdown—barely any lobster meat in it, and the sauce felt a little thin, kinda watery and too light. Still, overall it was a good experience and I’d come back, just maybe order a bit differently next time.
