Oro Restaurant In Venezia

Gorgeous. From the reception, the Presentation, quality of dishes, we had an excellent time. A very beautiful table!

Da wir Gäste des CIPRIANI waren, haben wir einen Abend im Restaurant ORO gebucht. Das Gesamtpaket stimmte einfach und wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend. Die innovative italienische Küche hat uns positiv überrascht und der Ablauf des Menüs war reibungslos und ohne unnötigen Schnörkel…..Die abendliche stimmungsvolle Atmosphäre mit Ausblick auf die Lagune und einem gut aufgelegten Serviceteam haben uns voll überzeugt.

Overall the meal was enjoyable but we struggled to consider it a Michelin starred meal. Our reservation was booked by Hotel Cipriani’s concierge team for our honeymoon but at no time during our dinner did they even acknowledge our honeymoon. We also had an 8 PM reservation and the Guinea Fowl was already sold out. The restaurant opened just 30 minutes before we arrived. This was the dish I was hoping for so that was a bit disappointment. Overall the rest of the food was delicious with nice presentations, but overpriced and small portions.

The restaurant is beautiful and the service impeccable (probably the best we experienced in Italy). I did get eaten alive by mosquitos but that’s not necessarily something the restaurant can prevent. The food was good but portions were very small. The “lagoon” appetizer was my least favorite dish tasting very much what a swampy lagoon would but the seafood pasta was delicious. Maybe the new chef was just too avant garde for my taste. For €95 euros you can have one small lobster tail and €65 will get you 6 thinly sliced beef. I expected to pay a premium at a Michelin star restaurant of course but if you are wanting something more hearty this is not the place.
