I think the people who left negative reviews have little knowledge of the industry. Despite reading a few negative reviews, I decided to sit down and try it anyway. I did well, very well in fact!! We had pizzas, bresaola with parmesan, and swordfish carpaccio. Everything was excellent! The staff was really friendly and helpful, and the prices were below average for what you'll find in Lucca's city center. It's not a tourist trap, despite being located in the amphitheater. I highly recommend this place!

The truffle ice cream didn't contain any truffles! We wanted to sit for a while in the Lucca Amphitheatre Square, and this is the place we found, since everyone except me wanted ice cream. The shop is in the middle of the sunny side of the square, a great location. The staff were nice, and the tables were clean—perfect for dining or relaxing. We originally wanted a coffee, but then we saw black truffle and white truffle ice cream on the menu, which seemed interesting, so we ordered one of each. The ice cream arrived shaped like truffles, but we couldn't taste any truffle at all. My companion said they just made it into that shape, but I said that's impossible; it must contain truffles. Finally, we asked the staff using Google Translate, and it turned out they really didn't add any truffles. Up until now, we usually choose ice cream by flavor, but here we chose by shape, which was a bit of a surprise. Only the lemon ice cream had any lemon flavor; the coconut ice cream was just a coconut shell and didn't taste like coconut at all. Perhaps we could specify things more clearly on the menu: truffle-shaped ice cream, ice cream served in lemon, ice cream served in a coconut shell.

The food was very good. During our seven-day stay, we went there twice and were never disappointed. The service was very friendly. I recommend it!

We only had a few aperitifs here, but they were delicious, well-measured, and the service was very friendly. The prices are very reasonable for Lucca. The dishes I saw passing by looked good.

Splendid square and excellent lunch, from tordelli to tagliata

Good Pizza, good crust and toppings - but the pizza dough itself could be improved. Food like meat, pasta or salad - no complaints. Drinks served at right temperature. Well, I didn't enjoy the espresso. The prices are normal. The service concentrates on serving as many customers as possible. The atmosphere is not as inviting as it used to be, there is a lot of pressure underneath. Couples and singles are often offered tables near the service station. The patio misting system above our table was not working this year - thank god. Maybe we give them a new try next year, maybe we will visit the Restaurant next door, maybe we leave for Piazza Santa Maria. Between 3 and 4 stars, all in all there is no need to worry for customers. Go in and find out if can make friends with Charlie.
