Officina 12 In Milano

I love Italy and I love eating well here. This restaurant is beautiful, very well located, and the staff is top-notch!!! But the food leaves much to be desired; I didn’t even take a picture because I was so disappointed. I spent almost 70€ alone on a gin drink, a pasta dish, and meat. The meat was okay, but the pasta is better at Miscusi. There you eat better and spend 20€ on drinks, but you don’t have the view.

The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. It would have been lovely to sit inside as well. I hadn't expected such a good restaurant in such a touristy place. They gave us excellent advice regarding gluten, and there were several options available.

We had a great time. Fantastic location.

The cutlet was disappointing and far from what I expected. It clearly looked defrosted, boneless, and the breading had completely separated from the meat. The meat was tasteless, unpleasant to eat, and full of sinew. I reported it, but it didn't help; in fact, I never returned and certainly wouldn't recommend it.

I wanted to write a shorter review, but I invite you to read it to understand how Alessandro made us feel and how we enjoyed our time at this place. I was in Milan for a weekend and my friends and I ended up at Osteria 12 (right on the Navigli) and... wow, a memorable experience. The welcome? Alessandro, who we later discovered is the owner, was the epitome of kindness, friendliness, and professionalism. We were truly pampered! We ate outside, but when I went inside... I was speechless. The place was beautiful, sophisticated, and a stunning bar with bottles as far as the eye could see. An indoor area where they grill, and a small garden outside. We chose the gnocco fritto with cured meats, and it was top-notch, high-quality cold cuts, followed by the red onion tatin with sour and orange. The desserts were also delicious; Alessandro also offered us a delicious dessert and coffee, all with incredible energy and charm. An unforgettable experience, highly recommended! Unfortunately, it won't be easy from Rome, but I've found my favorite restaurant in Milan! Thanks Alessandro!

Officina 12 is a very enjoyable spot for dinner along the Naviglio. The location is one of its biggest strengths — right by the canal, with a lively but still elegant evening atmosphere. It’s a great place to combine dinner with a walk along the water before or after. The service stood out in particular: genuinely friendly, attentive, and well-paced without ever feeling intrusive. We also had no waiting time, which made the experience feel even smoother. The food was good overall, with classic dishes that fit well into the setting. The veal Milanese was nicely prepared and delicious, and the starter worked well as an opening to the evening. Expect around 70–80€ per person, which feels reasonable for the location and ambiance. One thing to note: the restaurant is not accessible by car, so plan to arrive on foot. Overall, a very pleasant and well-rounded dining experience — especially if you’re looking for a relaxed but stylish evening in Milan.
