After coming here two days ago following glowing reviews, it seems only fair to tone things down. The 5-course meal at €70 (€74 actually with cutlery, as is often the case in Italy) and the wine pairing at €45 (5 glasses of 7 or 8 cl maximum) is not good value for money.
Only the second starter was very good; the rest was good but not great. The dessert was very disappointing. Two wines were very good; the others were mediocre.
It's a far cry from the level of a Michelin-starred restaurant, even though the price isn't cheap at all (€248 for two with water).

A well-kept, pleasant and welcoming place. A professional and efficient service. Menu changed periodically. Appetizing and healthy dishes from raw materials at almost zero kilometers. The tarte tatin is simply perfect in the presentation and is truly excellent. Excellent wine list and above all I want to thank the smiling, passionate and competent maitre. Prices balanced with the type of place and the level of quality of the dishes on the menu.

Fantastic food. Very tasty. Nice wine. I would say this was the best food I ate in Florence - the pasta was excellent, the ceviche was fresh, and the pork belly was delicious! They are definitely worthy of a Michelin star in my opinion

Worth a visit. Extremely fresh ingredients, excellent service, and an interesting interior. Popular with locals and tourists, so reservations are necessary.
Cool atmosphere, incredibly good and attentive service (although the start at reception wasn't 100% perfect but it doesn't matter). The food was a dream - creative and delicious. I've never eaten pork belly so well. People enjoy coming here!

Florence unveiled a true gem, a culinary highlight that easily ranks among our best meals in the city. Tucked away from the bustling tourist crowds, the gentle stroll to its doorstep was a welcome respite. Stepping inside felt like entering a warm Italian home, greeted by genuine smiles and attentive service – a perfect prelude to the delights that followed.
The open kitchen was a captivating window into the chef's artistry, allowing us to appreciate the passion and precision behind each creation. The now-legendary wild boar lard butter, paired with their exquisite bread selection, was indeed a beautiful overture. But the truffle pasta? That was simply mind-blowing. The tender pork fillet that followed defied expectations, surprisingly delicate and flavorful. And a bottle of robust red wine served as the perfect accompaniment to this Florentine feast.
This is a place I'll wholeheartedly recommend and undoubtedly return to on future visits. A true taste of authentic Florence, away from the tourist trail.

Er zijn geen superlatieven genoeg voor dit fijne restaurant even buiten het drukke toeristische centrum van Firenze. Je wordt er hartelijk verwelkomd door het zeer vriendelijke zaalpersoneel, waardoor je je onmiddellijk thuisvoelt. Wat dan volgt is een waar genot : verfijnde gerechten, een leuke wijnkaart, aangename bediening, en dat allemaal in een gezellig kader. Een klein minpuntje is misschien de snelheid waarmee de gerechten elkaar opvolgen, maar door even aan het personeel te vragen om een pauze in te lassen was dat ook weer mooi opgelost. Er is maar één advies : ga dineren in Nugolo wanneer je in Firenze bent ! Het is absoluut de moeite waard.

Dopo la prima visita, non vedevamo l’ora di tornare al Nugolo, e ancora una volta ci ha conquistati! Siamo venuti per festeggiare il nostro anniversario e non potevamo fare scelta migliore. Questo posto è davvero un gioiellino nel cuore di Firenze, che sa sempre come stupirti con un servizio che ti fa sentire speciale e una cucina curata nei minimi dettagli.
Il personale è semplicemente eccezionale: caloroso, attento e sempre sorridente, pronto a rendere l’esperienza ancora più piacevole!
E i piatti? Sono un vero viaggio sia per gli occhi che per il palato! Si vede la passione e la cura che c’è dietro, con sapori che esplodono in bocca e materie prime di altissima qualità.
Insomma, il Nugolo è ormai un nostro “must” a Firenze, e ci torneremo sicuramente. Se passate da queste parti, non potete perdervelo! Anzi, secondo me, vale anche la pena fare un viaggio apposta per provarlo. Grazie per aver reso questa serata ancora più speciale! ❤️
