Nugolo In Firenze

I had read about this restaraunt on the Michelin guide, though sadly it did not meet our expectations. We had the five course tasting menu. The carpaccio of celeriac with hazelnuts and pomegranate was an interesting take, good mix of textures. The next course was the egg with onion mousse, great dish with nice flavour. Came with a delicious pastry which my partner and I had to split, it should have come with two for the price and presumed quality of food. Next course was a pasta with truffle, was fine. Too simple. For the main course one of us had ordered chicken and the other pork, they seemed to be cooked in the exact same sauce with same side vegetables. I thought this was lazy, should have been different for the different meats. Last course was a sesame foam with berries. I understand the idea of being inventive with textures, but it was bitter, heavy and did not present well as a dessert. We chose to have the wine pairing with it, the pouring was very small (probably 4 or 5 oz per glass), and prosecco was mid meal which was odd, not worth the price of 45 euros per person. The server was friendly and prompt but the service was often awkward and disjointed as she was having to train someone during a busy night.

The food is very good and of high quality. We had a 5 course testing menu and every dish was delicious and very well made. The only remark is that there were no non-alcoholic cocktails to pair with the testing menu (only bio lemonades, which actually were not suitable for the dishes served because too sweet). Also, the knives to cut the meat were not sharp enough (just a suggestion for the future to sharpen or change them) :D

Very fine, creative food, pleasant service. Good wine pairing. Young team. We felt very comfortable and had a lovely evening.

We had an amazing experience from start to desert. Very warm welcome ! And very nice to be outside from the touristic area.

We went to this restaurant tonight, and as always, it's a guarantee. The food is top-notch, and every dish is prepared with care and passion. We tried the new menu, and it's truly delicious! A special mention goes to the quail rolls: exquisite and surprising, a must-try. The service was impeccable, courteous, and welcoming. We truly felt at home. Kudos to all the staff!

Cozy restaurant, with good atmosphere. Staff is friendly and the food is well prepared. Prices are a bit high and portions are small, but overall, good experience.

Amazing service with gorgeous food, both visually and taste wise. You can't go wrong with any of their selections on the menu. Every dish perfectly balanced and the servers are attentive without being imposing. Definitely a must stop in the city of you are looking for a high end restaurant. They are well worthy of their Michelin Star!

Er zijn geen superlatieven genoeg voor dit fijne restaurant even buiten het drukke toeristische centrum van Firenze. Je wordt er hartelijk verwelkomd door het zeer vriendelijke zaalpersoneel, waardoor je je onmiddellijk thuisvoelt. Wat dan volgt is een waar genot : verfijnde gerechten, een leuke wijnkaart, aangename bediening, en dat allemaal in een gezellig kader. Een klein minpuntje is misschien de snelheid waarmee de gerechten elkaar opvolgen, maar door even aan het personeel te vragen om een pauze in te lassen was dat ook weer mooi opgelost. Er is maar één advies : ga dineren in Nugolo wanneer je in Firenze bent ! Het is absoluut de moeite waard.

Tuvimos una experiencia de cena tan especial en Nugolo. Hicimos los 7 platos y el maridaje de vinos y fue espectacular! Nuestro camarero era tan apasionado y conocedor de los vinos. Además de las excelentes y deliciosas comidas, el servicio fue impecable. Hubo una confusión con nuestra reserva (había pensado totalmente que era el día equivocado) y Federico me llamó y cuando no recogí mensajes de texto suavemente y me preguntó si todavía venía. Organizamos otra fecha y hora que fue tan agradable como sé que están tan ocupados. Podrían haber cargado mi tarjeta para la reserva y seguir adelante, pero en su lugar llamaron, enviaron mensajes de texto, Y organizaron un nuevo tiempo para nosotros. Gente tan amable y especial.
