I recently dined at Nonna Nini, located near Piazza del Comune in Assisi, and it was absolutely delicious—one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The restaurant offers a unique blend of Indian and Italian cuisine, resulting in complex flavors that are both subtle and strong. One of the highlights for me was their accommodating menu, which includes gluten-free options and completely vegan dishes. Unlike many places where you have to ask for modifications, their vegan offerings are thoughtfully crafted without needing to request the removal of cheese or other non-vegan ingredients. The chef is super friendly and clearly passionate about the food. The experience leans towards fine dining, but the atmosphere remains casual and relaxed. The service and ambiance were both great, making the entire experience enjoyable. My only minor disappointment was the lack of vegan dessert options. Overall, Nonna Nini is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to explore a fusion of Indian and Italian flavors, whether you have dietary restrictions or not.

Wonderful, creative, delicious food in a lovely little restaurant with excellent service. Great attention to gluten free needs for those with celiac, as well as vegan options. Very highly recommended!

Right off the piazza del commune, this cosy restaurant swept us off our feet with a variety of vegetarian items that were a creative fusion of Indian delicacies with an Italian twist or vice versa. The samosas, the Bharta, the biriyani and tagliatelle pasta were outstanding. Great service from the family owned establishment that is clearly passionate about the fusion they serve. The chef Sanjeev Kumar also stepped out briefly to chat with us during our meal. Recommend booking as it was busy when we went there, clearly popular with patrons from all over the world. We would have gone back had we had another opportunity.

The best chef!! Came to our table and explained the DELICIOUS biryani dish to us! We also had the pasta with bufala and barbabietola. Tasted like nothing I’ve ever had before!! I will be coming back for dinner tonight. So gooood!

The eggplant Parmesan was very good. Samosas are delicious. Clean with great service and an excellent atmosphere. 100% would recommend.
