Fantastic.
Excellent food and abundant portions in a small-sized venue with great human warmth.
In addition to the food, we were struck by the paintings by Nando, the old owner of the building, displayed on the walls of the restaurant.
The manager, Tracy, an American from Vermont but with family origins from Benevento, has moved from traditional cuisine to a fusion that integrates local tradition with the spicy flavors of India, with a fine and lovely result.
Beautiful experience, man doesn't live by food alone...

I would have given 4 stars if it weren't for the Italian Sounding that characterizes the place. In reality it is not an Italian cuisine restaurant but an oriental fusion with revisited Italian dishes. Certainly good flavors and a nice place but the foreign owners perhaps lacked a bit of courage in telling the truth, I think to encourage foreign tourists who normally look for Italian originality in Italy.

Ristorante che unisce la cucina locale con sperimentazioni lontane. Un po’ pasticciata la scamorza con pomodoro e tartufo, ottimi invece i fiocchetti zola e pera. Interessante il riso limone e cocco anche se i gamberi non erano un granché. Mousse cioccolato non eccezionale. Locale un po’ poco riscaldato per i nostri gusti e le temperature invernali.

What a wonderful and unique experience! Our group of 6 originally had planned to eat elsewhere, but we stumbled upon Nonna Nini and we are so happy we did! The owner was extremely kind and shared her story of how her delicious menu items came about. This is not your typical Italian, but I can guarantee it’s one of the best restaurants we ate at while in Italy. Indian spices paired and balanced perfectly with Italian dishes. (But don’t forget to try the samosas and Biryani!!) As you can tell by the photo… we enjoyed everything!

Relaxed and silent atmosphere, impeccable and very welcoming service. Fusion food between Indian and Umbrian with flavors that go perfectly together.

I dined at this at cozy, beautiful restaurant on October 24th along with my wife and enjoyed the food. Traci and Sanjeev were very friendly and served us the most delicious food that we were craving Indian food after couple of weeks of eating pastas, and pizzas!. The chef Sanjeev personally came to greet us and showcased his culinary skills by executing very delicious pollo curry with rice; 7 types of lentil. The atmosphere was ambient, peaceful and lovely. I highly recommend anyone to try out their food if you are in Assisi, Italy. We will definitely return to dine again in the future.
