I spent some time in Japan and ever since I left I have a hole in my heart only an onigiri can fill. Years of searching Rome for the best sushi I have finally found the place I will become a regular at. The best sushi I’ve had in Europe BY FAR. The family that created Nomisan stick to tradition while maintaining a modern flair. Thank you so so much for creating food that sparks joy and comfort. I could not recommend this place enough. I've been to this restaurant twice. The first experience was definitely better than the second. It's certainly not a cheap restaurant, but the food is really good, and the service was equally pleasant, so we really enjoyed it. The last time, however, we had a bad experience with the service. There was clearly a misunderstanding about the wine, which was opened without even giving us time to see the bottle and without letting us taste it. It was their mistake; since we had asked for a still wine, they brought us sparkling. No problem, carelessness can happen. We then asked for a change of wine, but we waited over half an hour before anyone responded. In the end, since we were halfway through dinner, we opted for two glasses. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, the waiter insisted on a supposed error of judgment.
Another mistake regarding dessert: we ordered mochi, and they delivered frozen mochi. Of course, it's forgivable, but it's not what you'd expect from a traditional Japanese restaurant. We overlooked it, considering what happened before.
No adjustments were made to the bill, and it wasn't cheap at all, needless to say.
It's clear there's a lack of coordination among the staff. The only attentive and professional guy was the brown-haired guy with the beard, who had served us the previous time as well.
Too bad, we hope they improve the service.

We tried this restaurant for the first time and I must say we left satisfied.
The quality of the fish is definitely there and you can taste it.
One of the best things was the noodles with vegetables and fish, truly excellent.
The nigiri were excellent quality; in my opinion, the prices could be slightly lower (say 10-15%).
The final bill was slightly higher than you'd expect for such a dinner.

We've been returning to this restaurant for about a year with pleasure, to enjoy a dinner featuring traditional Japanese cuisine but not only that, we love the attentive and professional welcome, smiling and always present that makes us feel like we're in the right place. A quiet place punctuated by the sounds of the kitchen, the aromas, and the mix of dishes cooked in keeping with the traditions of Japanese
cuisine.
Each time we try different dishes and flavors, each time we try a dish from the blackboard menu and take advice from the experience of the staff in the dining room.
This time we ordered meat-filled ravioli, mixed sashimi, a trio of raw fish (from the daily menu)—the ingredients and accompanying condiments were excellent—Cazu Dhon (a rice bowl with marinated pork and fried tempura) and one with chicken in Teramaki sauce. Between them, they brought us marinated seaweed with ponzu sauce and chili pepper. We finished with the sweet Dora maki (famously filled with red bean cream) and ginger and lime ice cream.
The quality of the ingredients was excellent, the preparation and presentation of the dishes were in perfect Japanese style (10), and the service and dining room were wonderful. Compliments to the girls in the kitchen, who were smiling and very talented.

A very well-known restaurant in the area.
I'll start by saying that I'm not a sushi fan... honestly, I didn't find much difference between this restaurant and the average Chinese restaurant that also serves Japanese. I find it highly overrated.
The sushi and soup were good, though.
The sake was very light and not very fragrant.
I honestly wouldn't go back because the prices are high.

EVERYTHING TOP, ALMOST ...
I returned to this place, after more than 6/7 years and I found it even improved if that were possible.
In the dining room, the Staff is friendly, competent and kind. In the kitchen you can feel the refined hand of the Japanese Chef.
We take some excellent Uramaki with prawns and avocado, an excellent Tempura of Zucchini Flowers and Prawns, more Uramaki with crab meat and avocado, some satisfying Noodles with pan-fried vegetables in Tonkatsu sauce (perfect) and finally an extemporaneous treat: a Nigiri with mackerel!
With a particular label of Natural Wine of the Territory, €122 for two people. It seems fair to me also based on the quality of the products.
Yet there is a flaw: the Wine List written on a blackboard without Vintages and Description.
The Labels have an average cost that is disproportionate towards the High and not adequate to the excellent Gastronomic Proposal (including the Quality of the Rice). There is a complete lack of a price range that goes from €22 to €28.
Finally, the €13/Etto for the Caught Fish seems truly disproportionate to me!
For these reasons, I was almost going to give a point less, but the Products are so Excellent that I didn't feel like it.

I had the privilege of dining at this restaurant, the table in front of the open kitchen, allowed us to spend an evening in Japan. From the kitchen, in addition to inebriating aromas, resounded the laughter and conversations in Japanese of a reunited family. The passion, the love for their culture is transferred into every single dish. I was ecstatic about the flavors and the simple but accurate preparations, where no detail is left to chance.
Thank you so much for bringing real Japanese cuisine to Rome and whoever writes differently deserves all you can eat!
