Nero Licuti In Catania

What a really special place! Spent a gorgeous lunch overlooking the water with fabulous service, food and wine. We arrived 30 minutes early and they were so accomodating to allow us to sit and drink a lovely local wine until they were open. The tuna tartare was incredible as were the mussels and ohhhh the linguine scampi! If you are in Catania it’s a must go too! ♥️

Excellent restaurant with a beautiful view of the sea. Good food. Starters with various courses. Mussels, octopus and mixed fried fish. I enjoyed a portion of excellent tuna. The pastas well seasoned. The owner was kind and helpful. The price per person seemed a little high to me. If you are in Catania don't hesitate to go.

An excellent institution. Very tasty food and pleasant staff.

The professional waiters particularly stood out. You almost felt like you were in a posh restaurant. This is actually unheard of in this price range. We were let in and served a little before the actual opening time because we were 30 minutes early due to incorrect Google Maps information regarding opening times. The fries as starters were excellent and seemed like they were homemade. Rarely experienced so crunchy. We ate it all, despite the risk of not being able to finish the main course. A good homemade mayonnaise would have made it perfect. Unfortunately only small plastic bags from the industry, but it was also edible. We had 3 pizzas, these were ok but didn't particularly stand out. The strawberry ice cream as a dessert tasted okay, but somehow it wasn't creamy, but rather watery. It wasn't declared as a granita, but it had elements of it, although I wouldn't call it a granita, but rather a gelato. The panna cotta was thick and very creamy, seemed very high quality, with a fair amount. The cassata was almost too big and the fondant coating was very thick. At the end we were recommended an almond liqueur, which was an interesting change from traditional nightcaps. A beautiful view of the sea on top, even with spotlights on the "coast" and the water in the dark. A waiter always stood very close to us and sometimes we felt like we were being watched. But this also seems to be a cultural thing somewhere, since we were looked after so closely in almost every shop and restaurant. Plus, there weren't any other guests there yet, so the waiter couldn't do many other things. I would recommend it based on the service alone, as the price-performance ratio was unbeatable.
