Morano In Montefiascone

If you're passing by the lakeside in Montefiascone, you can't miss lunch or dinner at Morano. The quality, courtesy, and ambiance are wonderful. I recommend calling to reserve a table overlooking the lake.

During a visit to Tuscia, we stumbled upon this place for lunch. Excellent selection of local lake fish, homemade but prepared to the highest quality and technical standards. Some pairings were perhaps a little daring for our tastes (like fried sardines with onion compote). The price was fair and appropriate for the meal. Courtesy and friendliness are the hallmarks of this place, which, unfortunately, was winter and prevented us from eating on the veranda overlooking Lake Bolsena. We'll be back another season.

The first course with local lake fish was good, the second course of grilled eel was equally good, but I was very disappointed with the appetizer, which was clam and mussel soup because I'm sure the clams were cooked twice, not only dry but crunchy 🤦 how can you lose yourself on such nonsense... So as not to throw away 15/20 clams.... I gave three stars only for the first course and the second course, otherwise it deserved zero

Definitely a must-visit for seafood lovers!

We stayed in a fairly rural and basic place, without too many pretensions, but I must say it pleasantly surprised us. The atmosphere is simple but very clean, and the service is impeccable. Special thanks to the waitress: very kind and truly lovely, always smiling and attentive. The value for money is unbeatable: very low prices, but more than decent quality, especially for the fish. We tried the fried fish and the grilled golden fish: everything was good, well-cooked, and flavorful. The pan-fried vegetables were also a pleasant surprise. 👉 The only real flaw: the desserts, unfortunately inedible, definitely in need of improvement. Overall, a simple but honest place, where you can eat well for little money. We'll gladly return for another seafood grill!
