I was extremely impressed with this place, a typical tavern where I ate casoncelli (excellent) and braised beef with polenta taragna (the polenta and meat were delicious). I highly recommend it if you're visiting the upper town.

We found Mimi's based on an online recommendation and weren't disappointed. The wait for a table was short, as the place is small, but it was worth it. We had the cheeks, rabbit, and pumpkin ravioli. The service was quick and the dishes were delicious. The dishes were so large you'd want to lick the plate clean, leaving room for the tiramisu—which is great at this place, by the way. The side dishes are also very tasty. The tables are tiny, but this cramped space adds to the charm and atmosphere. The service is top-notch, and they take care of every customer. I highly recommend it! We'll be back.

Delicious food. Beautiful and quiet environment. Open for food all the time. Something you don't find easily in Italy.
Definitely go.
A small observation. They need to separate the entrance somewhat with the tables because in the first room the door opens and closes and it's cold. You don't sit comfortably

Mimì is my favorite place for any occasion, whether it's celebrating a special occasion or just a romantic evening.
I bring every guest who comes to visit, which I wanted to do today as well. I called on Thursday to make a reservation, but they don't take reservations for lunch on Sunday. That's why I stopped by around 1 pm (definitely rush hour) to see how many people were waiting.
I went in and asked, "Can I know approximately how many people are waiting?" Madam, come out and I'll explain how it works. No, no, but just to see if I should wait outside or not (it's been a bit chilly lately, it's not nice to sit still in the shade).
I was physically and kindly escorted outside, a gesture I didn't like at all and I think it's rude towards customers in general.
I hope it's due to the high number of customers, but I hope it doesn't become the norm "the customers/tourists will come anyway" 🙏🏽 stay as I've always liked you: very kind and up to par with the service 😊

A food and wine shop in Bergamo, divided into two spaces facing each other.
A homey atmosphere, excellent food, especially the cazoncelli alla bergamasca, and a wonderful charcuterie board.
Friendly and helpful staff.
We'll definitely return to try the polenta taragna.

I went for lunch with my girlfriend. It was crowded due to the holidays, but the service was excellent and the food was really good and homemade.
A special mention to the guy who brought us the wine; he had us taste three wines to see which one my girlfriend liked. Congratulations. We recommend it.

We had lunch on December 31, 2025. The place was small, chaotic, and extremely crowded, especially given the unusual date. We got the impression that the management's only interest was to get us to eat and then clear out as quickly as possible to make room for others. Dishes were made-to-order, to say the least, but of decent quality.

The restaurant, located on the main street of Bergamo Alta, is decidedly touristy but offers a good selection of traditional Bergamo dishes.
We started with a mix of local cured meats and cheeses accompanied by their own high-quality giardiniera. This was followed by beef carpaccio with candied fruit, a unique yet successful combination. Their homemade bread, baked in a wood-fired oven, was also good, although a little low in salt.
We were two couples, and each ordered a first course: traditional stuffed pasta, including casoncelli alla bergamasca and scarpinocc with pumpkin, both truly delicious. For our second course, we chose braised beef with polenta, also well-made, with tender and flavorful meat. We finished with two desserts, tiramisu and sbrisolona with gelato, both discreet and pleasant.
The only negative note, unfortunately quite significant on the overall experience, was the frenetic service: the restaurant was overcrowded, with too many tables for the available space. The tables are very small, and you often have to move your chair to allow other customers or waiters to pass (despite the fact that the staff were very professional), making the atmosphere less than relaxing.
The bill, in my opinion, was slightly expensive for what we ate. Overall, if it had been a quieter environment and less oriented towards mass tourism, the experience would have been truly excellent.
