Medusa In Siracusa

Highly recommended by our hotel, the family-run Medusa de Kamel restaurant did not disappoint. We were extremely fortunate to get the last table for two outside on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The entire restaurant was packed with locals. We started with the octopus salad, a beautifully-prepared, delicious mixture of sliced octopus, lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and strawberries. For the main course, we had “penne fibus” and linguine aretusa, the former being most impressive. It was basically pasta with swordfish and vegetables all mixed with pistachio. It was also the prettiest pasta dish I’ve ever seen. My wife’s signature linguine with crab legs and tomato sauce was tasty, too, but it didn’t have nearly the same degree of wow.. A bottle of mineral water for 3€ and a local white wine for 8€ sealed the deal. We had our gourmet Italian meal for 62€ and felt more satisfied than a lion with his dead antelope. The only gotcha, as was often the case when we traveled through Sicily, was trying to pay the bill. It took forever. Eventually, I walked inside and imposed myself until someone budged. I guess the norm over there is to hang out for a few hours after the meal. All in all, Cherry Wonderdog loved the meal and ranked Medusa da Kamel five stars on the coveted Cherry Wonderdog culinary scale.

Nice , family run restaurant in the Center of the city , confort and service are really nice , and the food extremely good , quality, and a very nice point : good portions , Quality/ price really really good
