For Apple fans, and even those who aren't, there's a special place where you can discover the company's history in an alternative way. Passing through the museum, you arrive at a wonderful restaurant overlooking the cathedral, where you can enjoy top-quality food and wine with impeccable service and an atmosphere. My fiancé and I tried the tasting menu and were immensely satisfied, not only with the quality, but also with the quantity, and above all with the excellent attention to detail. We can't recommend it highly enough. Thanks to all the staff who made us feel so pampered!

Sensational! An attractive, unique atmosphere; highly professional service; and the food (Contaminazione menu) was absolutely outstanding. A feast for the senses and the palate. And the value for money is excellent.

I would give this restaurant an overall 3/5.
My expectations were high and indeed the location is superb. The museum is interesting and the tables are well set.
Although, my experience at the restaurant was decent.
The service did not meet my expectations: the wine we ordered was not cold (so we had to wait 15 minutes for it to cool down), the waiter spilled some food on the table and in general I found it not worth the star.
The food started very good, their fish dishes and apetizers were delicious, as well as their desserts, but unfortunately their mains were pretty average. Counting that each plate was around 40€ I was disappointed.
Overall, I wouldn’t go back and I have to say, I am surprised the restaurant got a one Michelin star.

The service during dinner was generally friendly and attentive.
However, the final impression was ruined by the complete lack of attention upon leaving.
At the end of the evening, no one opened the door, and the only instruction we received was:
"The light is on the left, you can turn it on and come down," an inappropriate way to say goodbye to guests in a restaurant of this caliber.
Considering that we spent around €500 for two,
we would have expected greater care and attention right up to the last moment.
An experience that, unfortunately, leaves a negative impression.

A unique location, certainly iconic for enthusiasts. Impeccable service and excellent food. Few flights of fancy, but plenty of substance. A recommended stop at Palermo's only Michelin-starred restaurant.

A dinner that was a journey through techniques, ingredients, and bubbles. I went to the MEC Restaurant in Palermo for an evening event: a four-handed dinner with Carmelo Trentacosti and chef Alessandro Mecca, paired with a selection of Steinbrück and Vieille France Champagnes.
The museum-restaurant, housed in a historic building opposite the Cathedral, is where elegance is never ostentatious, but meticulously crafted. Soft lighting, minimal furnishings, and a suspended atmosphere leave room for the experience.
The journey begins with "Pasta e tenerumi," but not as you'd expect: elegant, transformed comfort food.
Then comes the reconstructed cherry tomato—a small work of art that looks like a fruit but actually encapsulates all of Sicily.
Shrimp, cherry, and orange granita surprise you with their sweetness and acidity. Pane e ricci is like a salty caress.
Then comes a beautiful and sublime tomato Bavarian cream with burrata and Aspra anchovies: precise, colorful, perfectly balanced.
The buttered escalope from Mecca is a stylish exercise in simplicity, followed by the smoked mackerel fillet from Trentacosti, with saffron, sweet and sour onion, and caper powder: a real treat. Then comes the risotto with black lemon and bottarga: savory, creamy, elegant. The monkfish ossobuco is a second course disguised as seafood comfort food.
The roast lamb closes the savory portion, before two desserts that compete in aesthetics and flavor:
– a creamy and compact hazelnut cake
– a cacio e pear tart with beetroot ice cream and fennel powder that stunned everyone (in a good way).
The Champagnes were a perfect match: bubbles never intrusive, but present, accompanying each step with personality. And the final coffee? A single-origin Peruvian, perfectly roasted, with a clean finish.
An unforgettable dinner.
Not just for the menu, but for the entire setting. I was pampered, inspired, and felt part of something special. And in such a setting, everything seemed to make even more sense.

Maybe Apple is backing this restaurant?
There’s Steve Jobs/Apple memorabilia everywhere & Im not sure why.
Food wise, they excel at seafood—the 1st bites were all seafood & all tasty.
There was a pumpkin dish w mustard ice cream that did not work.
Lamb needed flavor, seasoning.
Potage was great, risotto was great.
Our server had really squeaky shoes.
The som was super nice.
Wouldn’t go back.

Dining at MEC in Palermo was an unforgettable experience — not just a meal, but a journey through creativity, precision, and emotion. From the moment I entered, I could feel the calm elegance that defines Michelin-star dining: minimalist design, soft lighting, and impeccable attention to detail. The staff welcomed me with warmth and professionalism, making me feel truly taken care of throughout the evening.
I chose the tasting menu, and each course was a small work of art — visually stunning and bursting with flavor. The combination of local Sicilian ingredients and modern techniques was impressive. One of my favorites was the red prawn dish — delicate, sweet, and beautifully balanced. The wine pairing was exceptional, highlighting the best of Sicilian vineyards.
Every bite felt intentional, every flavor told a story. Even the pacing of the meal was perfect, allowing time to savor and reflect. The dessert was a masterpiece — light, elegant, and full of contrast.
MEC is more than a restaurant; it’s an experience that celebrates Sicily in its most refined form. If you appreciate culinary art, this place is absolutely worth it.

Original setting in the Mac museum, nice staff, but food was so-so. Ok appetizers, two fantastic entrees (the tomato dish was spectacular), but after that it went downhill... Main dish was not consistent, and dessert and sweet treats were bland.
