MeC Puddu's In Baunei

Good food, good quality, and good service. We'll definitely be back this summer.

Absolutely exceptional. These two words describe our visit.

MeC Puddu’s had a distinct lack of ambience, but they more than make up for it with an extensive and delicious menu! Highly recommend starting with the casu caentau al miele (carasau bread “cracker” with melted cheese and honey). Their goat stew and pasta with “goat sauce” (think bolognese but with goat) were out of this world!! Skip the house wine and go for an excellent cab franc or other vintage. Also had an excellent beer selection including a delightful Rosse Rocce amber ale. Highly recommend!! Only loses a star for the bright lighting and lack of any sort of romantic or old world ambience. Might have felt differently if we’d been seat next to the old well that’s capped in glass so you can see all the way to the bottom. That was cool!!!

ok sicilian food with little imagination presented. Staff was very pleasant and attentive.

Pasta and pizza were good. The fries as a starter were relatively overpriced at €6, but otherwise the price was good. Unfortunately, the tiramisu was still frozen in the middle. The ambiance wasn't that great; it was quite drafty. Overall, an acceptable visit, but nothing more.

Top, the name alone makes me happy!

We were here last year. It was a nice place with decent food. Even the mutton, a little rubbery, tasted good (too bad it was a little rubbery). When I mentioned it, they took it off my bill: I wasn't expecting it, but I was pleasantly surprised by such a gesture, which is quite rare in restaurants. It's a shame I can't return this year to see what's changed. Cheers
