I came with great expectations due to the hype around this small restaurant hidden in the narrow streets of San Lorenzo. The place Is Simply Styles but with an appreciated minimalistic touch in the furniture. The service was good, the dishes were good in general. The peak arrived with the starter, the fried tripe was very good, cruncy and flavourful without being oily and heavy to digest. Then the tartare was Also vary tasty with a sauce on top which made It very balanced. The fried artichocke was good and the Mayo on side was even Better. The bad came with the main courses. The pork chop was a bit top firm and chewy, and being It braised i expected It to be very soft and tender. Also to much fat, hard to chew. Then the breaded cutlet we got was good, crispy and tender enough, but the sauce was awful, warm cooking cream with champignon floating in the middle...something i would have in the '80s, they could have done Better, especially After what we saw with the starters. The dessert was luckly very good, bread cake with zabaione. Reccomend. Generally good but they can improve, Also considerig the very high prices. More than 100€ for 3 appetizers, 2 mains and 1 dessert. We did not have wine and bread...

The food is awesome, local and seasonal. The star deduction is only because it is a bit expensive. But it was a great experience. The staff is great! Very thoughtful, kind and service-oriented. There is a great wine selection of European wines and you can taste until you find what suits you best. The restaurant is super stylish, furnished with attention to detail. And very cool illustrations ♥️

Left with wheels on the panniculus and found yourself with crazy... a fortune! Excellent food, well cared for and well prepared raw materials. Family dinner (very quick with the first one for my daughter) absolutely attentive, present and empathetic staff. Low waiting times and absolutely impeccable cuisine. Prices in line with what the (well-kept) restaurant represents and above all for the culture and idea of ​​food they bring to the table.

We had an amazing evening at mazzo. Excellent natural wine selection. Bottle cost is excellent compared to the US. Easy to order both wine and food as non Italian speakers. The food was excellent the wagon wheel pasta may be one of the best pastas we have had in Rome. The ragu with the pasta was excellent. Very well balanced and wonderful texture. Pasta cooked perfectly, I’m pretty sure wagon wheels are the most structurally unsound pastas in the world it always falls apart when tossing. It was perfect here. The fried tripe is spot on, chef just nailed it. And the escargot is an awesome twist on a classic. I could eat many more. Lemon curd dessert was awesome.

Mazzo hostaria winery in the San Lorenzo area. The experience I must say was super positive. I had never tried fried tripe, to tell the truth I was a bit sceptical, but after trying it I must say that it was a pleasant discovery, yes because if eaten like this without the seasoning it seems like you are eating chips you have to work hard to understand what you are eating with the tomato a sprinkling of pecorino and mint, something completely different. The first rigatoni with spatula mackerel and ndyua what can I say is a masterpiece the fish cooked to perfection, juicy tender and then the fundamental thing the salami does not cover the delicate flavor of the fish. Pasta needless to say cooked to perfection. Also worth trying are the breaded snails sautéed in butter on a bed of parsley cream

We started again where we left off. Which for me is an advantage... very welcoming place (to be a bit of a pain in the ass... maybe only the acoustics could be improved) with impeccable service. There are things you may not like... But always done with care and attention. Super accurate wine list.

The Fooders are finally back! The place is very pleasant and then there is the food which is always up to their standards. I love Marco's fresh pasta in particular. This time I took some farmyard flavored tagliatelle, then the breaded slice and the bread cake. Nice list of wines, especially natural ones, many available. I will be back soon.

31/12/2023: In 4 ,4 coche, un'acqua, un antipasto misto, due carbonare , un tonnarello cacio e pepe, un rigatoni all'amatriciana , un sorbetto, un dolce, un amaro , un caffè, tutto ok ,80 euro
11/11/2023: Magari non sarà un ristorante di gran pregio ma in un sabato sera, senza prenotazione, siamo stati accolti con cortesia ed abbiamo avuto una cena piacevole. Buona la carbonara, bella carica, buona la pizza capricciosa, ottimi i saltimbocca alla romana. Servizio a giustamente svelto ma non frettoloso. Prezzo contenuto. A pochi metri da piazza del Popolo
