Delicious little place! I went there to celebrate my birthday with my parents and we had a great time! The owner and the place are super welcoming, the food is good, and the atmosphere is just right. I recommend it, even for vegans and vegetarians—there's a huge selection! Great way to celebrate!

Lunch was a lifesaver on a rainy Sunday in November, when most restaurants are closed for vacation. I chose a vegan option (even though I'm not vegan), and it was delicious! The menu was very varied, with options for all tastes, and the service was superb! If I'm ever in Gallipoli again, I'll definitely be back!

We were looking for a great, typical local dinner for my wife's birthday with two children. She's a vegetarian. We had researched it beforehand on Google and TripAdvisor because most good restaurants serve almost exclusively fish and seafood. While strolling through the old town, we finally landed on Matre by chance. And all our expectations of a lovely and, above all, delicious evening were fulfilled. Meatballs in tomato sauce or lasagna for the kids. Gnochi al forno for my wife. I had orrecchiette with eggplant and tuna. With a wonderful white wine. Dessert is coming soon: tiramisu and pasticciotto. Chocolate ice cream for the kids. Thank you so much. A fantastic end to our vacation. Highly recommended.

Pleasant and peaceful setting in the evening.
The staff is very welcoming and attentive. We were able to make ourselves understood in French. And especially, we got spaghetti carbonara, which wasn't on the menu.
Just a little disappointed with the ice cream given the price, but it was good.

Simple and very tasty dishes! A beautiful plate of tomatoes and buffalo with a drizzle of excellent pesto! A delicious and very light risotto! Homemade sweet notes (tiramisu!)
In short, very good and served with a neat presentation 👍
