If you are near Piazza San Giovanni in Matera, you have an obligatory stop to respect: Materia Prima Bistrot! Super welcoming and colorful place, well furnished and with a refined atmosphere... even the music playlist suits the place. Very kind and super helpful staff, quick to serve and respond to any request. Incredibly good food and raw materials, particular and inviting dishes. Definitely a place to return to on our next trip to Matera!

Dopo un giro qui, su TripAdvisor, ci siamo innamorati del suo menù e ci siamo andati. Ma siamo stati sedotti ma non abbandonati.. (il menù su TripAdvisor è vecchio di tre anni).
Il ragazzo che ci ha servito è molto disponibile e cordiale. Abbiamo ordinato alcune delle pietanze presenti sul nuovo menù e devo dire che veramente ne vale la pena. Ambiente piacevole, cibo buono e sfizioso. Staff come già detto, cordiale e preparato.

Alla ricerca di un posto per fare un aperitivo/cena rigosoramente vegani, ci imbattiamo in questo locale dopo aver letto delle recensioni su internet. Siamo state dolcemente sorprese dallo scoprire ricercate varianti vegane nel menu, tra cui delle polpette STELLARI, invenzione del proprietario. Consigliatissimo se passate da Matera, specialmente d'estate in quanto i tavoli si trovano davanti la chiesa più bella e suggestiva della città, a mio modesto avviso (e non me ne voglia la cattedrale).

The best meal I had in Matera!
We had been having almost the 'same' type of Italian menu for the past week and came across this little gem in Matera!
We came in slightly early but was welcome to be seated.
We had ordered the costini as a starter which was served warm! The bread was so soft with the melted cheese.
Both the slow cooked beef sliced and pork bombette was very very good. The bombette kind of melt in your mouth! So does the potatoes - well cooked and nicely flavored. Kudos to both the chef and owner for putting such an unique menu.
As for the desserts, we had to skipped as we had several in the late afternoon on the same day.
Keep up with the dishes coming! 👍👍👍
