This is a small, limited-seat restaurant in the center of Assisi. It's a great place for a quick stop to try the torta al testo, a traditional local dish, and enjoy a glass of wine. The torta bocciata is also excellent.

Excellent food at a good price. The sausage with olive bread was delicious. They put a lot of care into it and serve it piping hot. The service is excellent.

They make sandwiches and other treats. Delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. They even offered us a second coffee. Recommended for a quick break. The restroom is unisex but spotlessly clean.

03/06/2026: June 2, 2026...We stopped for lunch on the way back from the beach..... lovely people, impeccable welcome and service, delicious well-cooked food and desserts, finally something different from the usual.... I felt at home, you can notice so many beautiful nuances of sweetness towards the customers, I will definitely return, even just passing through, but I will stop here for the very happy stop, congratulations to everyone and thank you so much.
31/05/2026: The staff is friendly, the place could use a refresh, but the food is good and the pizza is excellent. The place is fabulous.

04/05/2026: Il Chicco di Grano was a discovery that won us over from the first moment. The young, dynamic, and always smiling staff have that rare ability to make you feel right at home. From the chef to the maître d', to the entire dining room team: true passion, contagious enthusiasm, and a special care in explaining each dish. The menu elegantly ranges from local specialties to seafood dishes, all carefully crafted and impeccably presented. Each course was a small experience, one that lets you savor the moment. During our three-day Umbrian motorcycle trip, we returned twice... and I think that says it all. If you're passing through Deruta, treat yourself to this.
