MamaGina Cafè & Bistrò In Brunate

Just the most delightful late summer’s dinner overlooking the lake. We loved the service almost as much as the setting - Mercedes, Nicole and Momo were lovely and friendly and we had a great chat. Food was gorgeous. A special recommendation for this place !

Mamagina Café and Bistrot was one of the highlights of our visit to Lake Como. The major asset of this restaurant is undoubtedly the spectacular view of the lake from its high terrace. Dining with such a breathtaking view made our experience truly special. In addition to the view, we were delighted by the quality of the dishes, which combine Italian tradition and creativity. The service was attentive and warm, which added an even more pleasant touch to our evening. If you are looking for a place to enjoy a great meal while enjoying a wonderful view of Lake Como, look no further!

Innegabilmente la vista sul lago che si gode dalla terrazza è stupefacente e l'ambiente è molto cool. Il personale è affabile, simpatico ma allo stesso tempo impeccabilmente professionale. Il menu è basato principalmente sulla cucina tradizionale della zona: abbiamo iniziato con un tagliere di salumi, formaggi e conserve per poi passare chi alla polenta con lo zola (molto piccante), chi alla polenta coi funghi. Io mi sono leccato i baffi per il mio ganassino (brasato di guancia) con polenta, ma io non faccio testo (vado matto per la guancia). Ci è piaciuto tutto. Unico appunto: secondo mio figlio nelle sue tagliatelle ai porcini c'era un po' troppo rosmarino. Certamente in qualche crotto si può mangiare meglio e soprattutto spendere meno, ma Mama Gina in più offre coolness e un panorama pazzesco!

Welcoming, helpful and professional staff. The food was excellent, meat and polenta...top! Too bad I wasn't able to eat the tiramisu... Maybe next time!

Beautiful experience in Brunate, we became curious about this bar restaurant which at 10 was the only thing open in the whole square, my wife and I drank coffee on the terrace and it was a fantastic experience. Not happy, we also returned for lunch after a visit to the lighthouse, what can I say, fantastic food, the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms were delicious, but even the simple bruschetta as a starter had a very particular flavour. Don't underestimate the duck breast, which is also very good. In conclusion, a more than positive experience. We will definitely be back to try the winter cuisine too, see you soon 😘

Nice place. Medium-high prices. Food nothing special. Service: They forget about you. Unfortunately full of wasps. They are everywhere... even on your plate.

Ce restaurant se mérite surtout si vous faites l’ascension depuis le funiculaire à pied mais vous êtes vite récompensé. Accueil sympathique, une superbe terrasse (pensez à réserver) ombragée avec une bonne fraîcheur et une vue magnifique . Une cuisine authentique goûteuse : assiette de charcuterie, bruschetta, les pâtes sont délicieuses : Tagliatella ai funghi porcini, Spaghetto Mamagina et enfin les Ravioli burrata e pistacchio. Tester la polenta mama gina c’est une très belle surprise. Tarif plutôt élevé mais justifié. À recommander sans hésitation.
