My first time at La Madonnina was in 1994. Moreno was 30, but the cuisine was already spectacular, completely unusual for someone accustomed to typical seafood tavern fare. It's certainly been said before, but the symbiosis between him and his wife Mariella was perfect, both with a constant benevolence of spirit. Always available to everyone, always smiling and serene. He certainly benefited in those years from the fact that the Gastronomic Guides were more welcoming to seafood restaurants, since for them the paradigm of "land" restaurants was French cuisine. Then things changed: Catalonia arrived, the Italians grew, the cuisine is now international. Moreno hasn't stagnated; he continues to experiment and amaze. Simply put, Moreno Cedroni's cuisine "creates expectations." It's like a perfect movie that keeps you glued from start to finish, and when you leave the theater, you're satisfied and ready to talk about it with friends and on social media.
