We'd been away for a long time, so we returned to celebrate an anniversary and we indulged.

Everything remained just as we left it, which surprised us that they remembered us after so many years.
The food never disappoints: the meat is delicious, the bombette, the sausage, and the livers are a sight to behold.
We couldn't help but try the pizza, and I was surprised.
It was already good, but it got even better, delicious.
The dough was good, as was the toppings.
The price is average, the pizza, the meat, the side dish, the ash-fried potato (another delight), drinks, water, and cover charge per person are around 25 euros, but it also depends on the type of meat chosen.
There's a lot of life outside.

I'm a regular at this restaurant located in the historic center of Martina Franca, in the town's central and oldest square. This restaurant/pizzeria, with both indoor and outdoor dining, specializes in traditional Martina Franca meat cuisine. Bombette, chicken livers, gnummarielli, and exquisite veal steaks are of the highest quality.
The animals, slaughtered in-house to create these fantastic steaks, are Limousin breed, as the owner specified.
Therefore, the aging times are rigorous and perfect.
The ovens used to cook the meat in Martina Franca are unique: the meat is skewered on long skewers, which are positioned near the embers at an angle. This allows the rendered fat to slide off the skewers without dripping, making the meat very flavorful and avoiding the excess smoke that normally occurs when the fat drips onto the embers below, horizontally, as is usual in traditional ovens.
It goes without saying that this is my favorite restaurant, not only because I've known the owner personally for over 30 years, but also because the food is delicious!
The pizza, the baked potatoes cooked in ash, the typical cured meats and cheeses, and the traditional Martina Franca bread (usually firm and slightly airy) make this restaurant excellent.
Try it and believe it.
The prices are below average.
