Macelleria Popolare In Milano

Undoubtedly a different experience than usual, which you may or may not like. Personally, I give it full marks for the originality of the menu, the authenticity of the format, the deliciousness of the dishes, and the friendly atmosphere of the entire staff. Trying several dishes, excluding the sandwiches, can easily bring the price down to €40 per person, a price that I honestly thought was okay overall.

It was Saturday, and like any hungry tourist, I called to see if they were open. The man on the other end answered with a "we've been waiting for you like the Messiah" enthusiasm: "We're anxiously awaiting you!" I hung up with a mixture of surprise and curiosity... what kind of butcher shop is this? A steak cult? A Fiorentina fan club? I walked in and... wow, what a pleasant surprise. Macelleria Popolare isn't your average butcher shop: it's a place staffed by a great team of professionals who clearly love what they do. You can tell by the obsessive care they put into everything: the meat is top-notch, but above all, they cook dishes with a love you can taste from the first bite. Here, they don't just sell meat... they celebrate it. The atmosphere is warm, authentic, and quintessentially Milanese. You feel like you've entered not a shop, but a home where your grandmother (very rockin') is preparing dinner for you. And the fact that they waited "anxiously" for you wasn't a joke: they treat you like family from the very first moment. In short, if you're in Milan and you like real meat (the good kind, treated with respect and passion), Macelleria Popolare is a must-see. I left happy, with a full belly and already wanting to return.

We ate at Milan's Macelleria Popolare Butcher shop based on Carlo Cracco's YouTube review. It was a great experience. The team put together a great meal, picked delicious wines and desserts. And they have tables on the canal. And they brought and explained all the food items. It was the experience we wanted and far exceeded our expectations - we highly recommend it!

I really liked the idea and the way it's organized. The quality, the courtesy of the staff were appreciated, and the unique offerings were very interesting. The only caveat: on weekday evenings, it's a bit isolated inside the covered market; but it's still a great place to go. WELL DONE!

If you're hungry, don't go; the portions are too small and the prices are very high. If you're wealthy, this is the place for you; you'll be satisfied. But it's certainly not a butcher shop for the masses.

I've never eaten such good meat in Milan. I had the bombette and the scottadito with a glass of wine, and besides the deliciousness, the prices were fair, and the staff were professional and friendly, explaining the origins, history, and recommending what to pair with it. My compliments, truly.

A favorite spot in Milan. Passionate staff with personalized wine pairings with platters. Recipes are specially made, and some generational. Always love coming back and sitting by the river!
