We went for dinner having already had an aperitif elsewhere, so a light meal: pappardelle with ragù and asparagus risotto, plus cheesecake and a fruit basket. 2 glasses of prosecco and 2 liters of water. The quality of the food is unquestionable, everything prepared very well and with care. The view is enchanting, a stone's throw from the lake, with a walkway/pier very useful for taking souvenir photos. Peace and soft music. Sunset at 8 pm .... Since it was a very hot evening it would have been preferable to arrive after 8:30 pm to have the sun's rays on us, but appreciating the sunset has its reasons. Price appropriate to the quality. Total 80 euros. Advice: piano bar music would be perfect for this place.

Last Sunday we decided to go to dinner, in the company of a couple of friends, on the shores of Lake Orta at “L'Ustaria Cà dal Rat”, located just under 2 kilometers from the charming Orta San Giulio (Novara). The image of a romantic restaurant immediately appeared to my wife, surprised by the location, with a terrace overlooking the lake where there are several tables set, all overlooking the lake and the sunset to come. Obviously this is the summer image that welcomes us, but if we went during the other seasons, we would be faced with an equally warm and welcoming environment, with the complicity of the fireplace in the center of the room, inside the main house. A small flaw, but surmountable, the parking lot, located inside the complex, is small, offers few parking spaces, but still convenient. There are other places on the road along the lake. So there were four of us and we ordered 4 appetizers and 4 second courses, all washed down with a decent Prosecco di Trento, which accompanied the dinner dishes well. So we ordered as an appetizer some Seared Royal Perch Fillets with scapece courgettes and mint (delicate and delicious), and some Buckwheat Crepes filled with ricotta and asparagus au gratin in the oven (adorable and pleasant) which they prepared for the second courses. Here the choices were quite different, going from Luciana-style Octopus, black olives and capers with garlic bread crouton, to an Irish Filet Steak with seasonal vegetables sautéed with aromatic herbs and Scorfano au gratin with caramelized fennel and garlic and lemon mayonnaise. All the dishes were appreciated, recognizing the skill of the Chef who combines tradition with some innovation in addition to the quality of the raw materials. To finish in style 4 desserts that varied from Grapefruit Sorbet, to Salted Caramel Cheesecake and Puff Pastry Basket with Coconut and Berries. Service thoughtful and attentive to our requests. Final price around 70 euros per person, which recognizes the right Quality and Price ratio and the Location with a spectacular view of the Lake.

Location in riva al lago ma fuori dal caos di Orta. I tavoli all'aperto godono di una vista meravigliosa, anche quelli in seconda fila. Cibo di qualità, servizio nella media, offerta di vini al bicchiere migliorabile. Nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene. Il cibo era di qualità e le ricette, senza grosse stravagante o innovazioni hanno ingredienti ben amalgamation tra loro.

Bel locale sul riva del lago . Ottima cucina e ottime matterie prime . Sarebbe stato perfetto cenare al aperto ma il tempo non ce l’ha permesso purtroppo
