L'Ostricaio In Livorno

After many years I returned to this seaside restaurant, excellent quality food, good service, only one flaw, you can't bring the salad and then leave the place to chat, we had to ask for the dressing, for this reason I only give 4 stars for the service, 3 stars for the environment because I believe that a restaurant like this deserves more space.

We went for Easter lunch. Very kind staff. The waitresses are a little "immature" but always very kind and helpful. What is not acceptable is the lack of cleanliness. We had lunch with wine glasses that were visibly not very clean but given the glasses of the other tables and since we are decidedly rustic, we did not ask for replacements. Personally and from experience when I ran a restaurant, the fault lies first and foremost with poor maintenance of the glasswasher and then with those who put the glasses on the table without looking at them. Good quality food with normal plating. The only suggestion is to avoid decorations with ground pepper on a flat edge. Personally I love pepper but there are people who don't like it. Would I go back? YES for cooking No for cleaning. I'm sure that with little effort they will improve the aim to deserve 5 stars.

It's been years now that we had the opportunity to eat out, due to our moving city... but soon we will return to enjoy the welcome and the wonderful menu... that's a promise!!

Cozy place with few seats, it is advisable to book well in advance. Excellent staff, excellent seafood cuisine. If present in the dishes of the day, which you can find on the blackboard at the entrance to the restaurant, I recommend: appetizer octopus and mussels caciuccatiPrices. Prices. Prices within reach. Locale storico sul lungomare di Livorno Siamo stati diverse volte nel passare degli anni, e non è mai stato fatto nessun lavoro purtroppo questo piccolo localino non è curato né valorizzato come meriterebbe la sua storia è la posizione,e il passare del tempo non aiuta sicuramente. Il bagno è ai minimi della decenza Detto questo i piatti sono sempre abbastanza buoni il pesce fresco, il personale bhe dipende chi ti capita...

The oyster house is an enchanting place a few steps from the sea in Livorno. They welcome you with a smile and a prosecco, the service is quite quick despite being quite popular, the menu is very varied and the products are of quality at honest and not excessive prices. The first courses were excellent, as was the frying, excellent and abundant cacciucco and to finish I tried the Livornese tile... excellent conclusion! To try.

While passing through, we stopped for a snack on oysters and bubbles. Excellent value for money, fast and friendly service.

Il ristorante si trova nel quartiere "Nuova Venezia" e - quando le temperature lo consentono - si può mangiare affacciati su un canale, osservando sull'altra sponda il Palazzo dei Domenicani, ex carcere in cui fu ristretto il presidente Sandro Pertini ai tempi del fascismo. Il canale non puzza, per fortuna. Come antipasto ho mangiato il tris di baccalà (discreto) e come piatto principale gli gnocchetti dell'Ostricaio. Non male, ma neanche indimenticabili. Il pezzo forte del ristorante, però, sarebbero i piatti a base di pesce e di frutti di mare, sebbene anche la burrata sembri un alimento molto gradito agli chef. Cameriere gentili.
