L'Oste del Re In Orvieto

We ate at this restaurant in the center of Orvieto and I must say we had a great time. Excellent traditional Umbrian-Tuscan dishes at reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and attentive. Recommended.

A very quaint place along Via Duomo. The food is good, and the service was quick, especially considering we have two children. The blonde lady was very kind and paid special attention to the little ones. Recommended!

Excellent lunch, everything was truly delicious. We repeated the wild boar platter and bruschetta. The first courses were truly superb, not to mention the second courses and desserts. The owners, their daughter, and all the staff were truly fantastic, and the hospitality and professionalism of the staff was truly exceptional. Highly recommended.

Fantastic in every way, fabulous and well-prepared food, friendly and welcoming owners, and incredibly kind waiters, Fabio and Sara. The family atmosphere is heartwarming, and after a day in Orvieto, the warm welcome they give their customers is truly heartwarming. I definitely recommend it.

Had lunch today with our kids. We tried a little bit of everything, hoping to find something less than perfect, but nothing... great place, friendly owners, and above all, the sign outside that reads "If a pig could choose where to die, it would die here" was spot on. The sausages in oil were like my grandfather's... flavors of childhood these days. I'm usually critical of places, but this one is highly recommended!!!

A simply magnificent experience at Oste del Re in Orvieto. We started with spectacular umbricielli, both with amatriciana sauce and porcini mushrooms: authentic, intense flavors, the kind that reflect the region. This was followed by perfectly cooked cod Orvietana-style and an extraordinary peposo, tender and fragrant. To round things off, the Orvieto herb liqueur, a true treat. The food is sublime, but what makes this place truly special is the atmosphere: warm, welcoming, and authentic. A special shout-out goes to the hostess, dressed in red, with an overwhelming charm and rare professionalism. Despite the place being packed, she was attentive to everything, as was all the staff: present, smiling, and impeccable. We had a takeout lunch, ordering four focaccias. The ingredients were excellent, and there was a wide selection to choose from. But I find it unacceptable that you can't pay by card for takeout, only cash. In Italy, if I remember correctly, electronic money is equivalent to cash!

A restaurant we found by chance in the center of Orvieto, a great discovery 😍 The staff were truly friendly, welcoming, and professional. We ate a wonderful first course with Chianina beef ragù, and for our second course, a wild boar cacciatore with polenta and Cicotto, both truly delicious. In fact, all three courses were returned perfectly clean.
