Antica Cantina In Orvieto

We just ate at this delightful little restaurant. We had a wonderful meal! They have a wide variety of gluten-free options! I had a plate of gluten-free ombrichelli alla norcina and the ricotta and chocolate cake, as well as their homemade gluten-free bread, served warm! Everything was absolutely delicious!

We went for lunch, and I must say it was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had in recent memory. The restaurant has a casual yet meticulously curated style: every detail is tastefully considered. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined without being pretentious. The service was excellent. Those who looked after us showed rare calm and professionalism: attentive but never invasive, present at the right time, and with a genuine smile combined with a kindness that truly makes the difference. As for the food, it was simply excellent. High-quality ingredients, clean and distinctive flavors, and meticulous attention to detail in every dish. The gluten-free menu was particularly appreciated: it wasn't an "adapted version," but a preparation conceived and executed with the same care and attention to detail as the other dishes. There was no compromise on flavor. In short, a restaurant that manages to combine informality, attention to detail, quality ingredients, and truly calm and competent service. We'll definitely be back, and we're happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat well in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere just steps from the Duomo. 5 well-deserved stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Everything was really good... excellent gluten-free food... everything made by them... very kind staff...🥰

The truffle pasta was so delicious that I visited two days in a row. The al tante pasta comes with finely grated pasta, and it is incredibly tasty. There is plenty of sauce, so it is the best when spread on baguette bread. Since one woman handles both serving and payment, you have to wait a long time if you don't time it right. On my first visit, it was a weekday lunch so there weren't many people, and I was able to order and pay immediately. However, on my second visit, which was on a Saturday, I waited over 15 minutes to order and waited to pay, so I eventually had to go to the counter and ask them to process it for me. It’s not racism, but the white gentleman sitting next to me had to wait a very long time, complaining that the service was terrible.

A very nice, entirely female-run restaurant. Excellent food, with options for those with gluten intolerances. Definitely not a place for those in a hurry. The €5 cover charge is perhaps a bit pricey.

This is a gem of a restaurant. The food is prepared with care and served with love. Dishes are unique to the region and use locally sourced ingredients. The house wine is very good!

Lunch with friends. Had a lovely day. We ate several dishes from the menu and off-menu, all excellent. Excellent wine and homemade desserts. Perfect service, courtesy and professionalism. Highly recommended.

All our customers who visit Orvierto end their trip in Cecilia's wonderful kitchen. Delicious homemade food, a great atmosphere, and she's a sweetheart. If you have the chance, don't miss it!

As an appetizer, we had lardo di Cinta Senese. It was delicious and served with warm bread, which helped to slightly melt the lardo. As a main course, we had ombrichelli alla Norcina, which was very good, and an off-menu squid ink ravioli, which was our absolute favorite, simply delicious. For drinks, we ordered the house red wine, which we didn’t like very much. The place was very nice and clean, and the owner was very sweet. We’ll definitely be going back on our next visit to Orvieto.
