Locanda Mammi' In Agnone

Second time at this beautiful restaurant, and this time we were greeted by a Michelin star, which we were very happy about because they deserve it! We dined and stayed at Locanda Mammì and had a truly wonderful time. The three-course tasting menu, at a competitive price, exceeded our expectations. Special mention goes to the tongue appetizer with potato peel consommé: a journey of flavor that envelops the palate, and to the transhumance risotto, which is a true olfactory and taste experience. The dessert, the rose cake, is a little wonder! The staff is very kind and welcoming, and we can see that a lot of work and research goes into their dishes. They bring a special Molise to the table!

My partner and I return here as often as we can to delight our palates. As far as I'm concerned, the entirely vegan menu is truly top-notch; I've eaten so well in few places. We particularly love this "locanda" because we've never left unsatisfied; on the contrary, the atmosphere and the sensory journey of the tasting always leave us pleasantly enchanted. 🙂

The fame of the Mammi inn had intrigued us, we expected a lot... we received more.

Everything was meticulously cared for. We stayed one night in a cozy room, and the shower gel provided was incredibly fragrant. Breakfast, from light to sweet, was made with genuine, homemade products. We had a wonderful time!

Locanda Mammi' is always a great experience! Excellent wine, excellent food, and exquisite desserts. We had a wonderful time, just like every other time; everything is superb! It's an experience you have to try at least once in your life!

Dining at Locanda Mamma means indulging in a journey of flavors, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail. Everything was excellent: balanced dishes, top-quality ingredients, and expertly crafted pairings. Special mention goes to the homemade bread and butter: exquisite. The menu offers a wide variety of choices and prices, allowing for a compromise to suit every budget and occasion. We chose the €65 menu, which includes five courses: an aperitif, three courses of our choice, and a small pastry. We chose the mutton tartare, yogurt, and Campari; guinea fowl tortello and grilled salad; and lamb, onion, and bitter herbs. I also added the chocolate and apricot dessert. Each course was light and perfectly balanced, so much so that we left the table feeling full but not weighed down—a truly rare sensation. We accompanied the tasting with three glasses of wine chosen by the sommelier. The selection was impeccable. We will definitely be back to discover other menu options and relive this wonderful gastronomic experience!

At Locanda Mammì, every dish is an explosion of authentic aromas and flavors, a feast for the eyes and the palate. The veranda overlooking the valley adds to the beauty and tranquility.

We stayed at this inn with reasonable success. Let's start with a positive: the breakfast flavors. We found them truly delicate and refined. However, we would like to offer some suggestions for improving, what we believe, the hotel's service: 1) ROOMS: Cleanliness needs improvement, even if only slightly; cobwebs, spiders, and wasps should be removed (as requested separately); this can be considered a sign of inadequacy; there is no trash can, only a very small one in the bathroom; a small refrigerator is missing; although this isn't a hotel, we believe a stay here would require one; the soundproofing in our room wasn't the best; unfortunately, everything could be heard from adjacent rooms, from the footsteps above to the alarm clocks of cell phones. Please be aware of the dull noise from the exhaust duct, which can be heard from our room. Air conditioning OK 2) SECURITY: While it's not a high-risk area, you might think there was video surveillance around the perimeter or outside the building, perhaps we didn't notice it or it wasn't there. 3) FOOD AND DRINK: The gourmet menu may be "appetizing" for the most discerning palates, but upon reading it, it turned out to be sophisticated and not very affordable. This is a shame, considering that guests would have greatly benefited from an on-site restaurant offering more "classic" restaurant meals for lunch and/or dinner. We understand the starred rewards and know it's a tough and difficult path to achieve, but we had to give up and instead always moved to nearby establishments with much lower prices and larger portions, despite traveling several kilometers. Breakfast could use a little more variety. 4) STAFF: A few more smiles wouldn't hurt. 5) LOCATION: Convenient, close to the beautiful Rosello and Capracotta, definitely worth visiting for their vegetation and climate. The overall rating is average.
