I hadn't heard of them, and it was an encounter as happy as courtly love: golden, irresistible, capable of winning over even the most skeptical hearts. Between a glass of beer and a lighthearted joke, you feel part pilgrim, part court lord, welcomed with the same care. Francesca and her son transform the meal into a serious game: kindness is their secret recipe, good humor their special seasoning. The Locanda del Medioevo isn't just a stopover, it's a little enchantment: a place where even a cremino can change your day.

Beautiful location in the historic center of Arezzo. Stone interior. Medieval music playing in the background. Period furnishings. Staff dressed in period attire. Excellent local food.

Near the Cathedral of Sant'Emidio, this restaurant offers traditional local dishes, revisited with a medieval twist. The portions are generous, and the service is courteous and fast. Even the decor is themed. Prices are unsurprising.

Wow, I've never seen a themed inn with such attention to detail, both in the structure and the menu. As soon as you enter, you're catapulted into a very ancient world and feel like you've traveled back in time.

Dinner on the 31st, booked days in advance, €60 per person, I think. I paid a deposit out of fairness. I liked the dishes, especially the soup and tagliatelle, the cannelloni, and the roast beef were passable. The lentils with cotechino were embarrassing, a slice of dry cotechino cut into squares...you can see the photo...anyway, overall...it was okay. Aside from the industrial dessert, which wasn't very good...a well-made crepe would have been better! But the scandalous thing was the weather. Cold. We were placed in a sort of enclosed outdoor area, poorly, for the winter. Someone had us move to the main room. The rest of us dined in jackets. If I hadn't already paid a deposit, I would have gone to eat a couple of arrosticini in the square. There was a fake stove that I still have to figure out if it worked. The waiters pretended nothing was happening... they were rushing to serve everyone and didn't even notice... the owner or manager... the one in a tie at the cash register, who occasionally appeared, didn't bother to say anything... like maybe there was a problem and he apologized to us in the dining room... nothing. I stayed because I thought they'd fix it at least a little. And nothing when I went to pay, either. I repeat, we all dined in coats. A discount would have been enough to save their reputation. But I saw they have the same problems with the air conditioning, reading previous reviews...!

Very tasty, didn't have to wait long. Prices are not expensive, service is very polite, attentive and fast! A great dinner for 5 people with drinks (and a liter of wine!!!) 117 euros. Everything is super, definitely want to visit again!
