I went with my wife. The food was good and the service was good, but given its reputation, I honestly expected more. The wow factor was lacking in both the service and the decor (obviously, it's a matter of personal taste, but the plastic chairs certainly aren't). We ordered the wine, but it wasn't even tasted, simply poured into glasses, with no explanation of the wine list. In short, for a Michelin-recommended restaurant, I expected more. It must be said that the price of the dinner was very respectful. I expected it to be higher.

Locanda 4 Cuochi serves excellent Italian cuisine. If you're visiting the Arena in Verona, the restaurant is ideally located. It's only a three-minute walk to the entrance! However, that's not the reason we liked the restaurant so much; it's more about the incredibly good food at reasonable prices and the very attentive and friendly service. If we're ever in Verona again, we won't miss the opportunity to visit this excellent restaurant!

I went on Friday evening, September 5, 2025.
I hadn't booked. Verona was crowded. I showed up at rush hour, and I had a table within 5 minutes.
4 seats (one child).
I wanted a nice location, given the importance of the date (10th wedding anniversary). The food was divine, unlike the Teutonic diners at the next table who, having ordered the same dishes as me, claimed they were tasteless... never mind.
The flavors were there, just think that my son (6 years old), after a portion of simple pasta with sauce, wanted another half portion (never happened before, and if you're wondering, yes, they do half portions because they care about even the little ones).
The dishes were spot on; I could have served the cheek with a spoon, it was so soft. The pasta (a sort of carbonara with vegetables) was practically stolen halfway by my eldest son. And then the millefeuille "on the edge of physics," highly recommended. The colored pencils and "messy" tablecloth, which eliminated the wait, were definitely appreciated. The staff were VERY knowledgeable and always smiling (which is not a given).
Excellent wine list.
More than fair price.
What else can I say? New favorite place unlocked.

I solo dined at the bar ordering the six course tasting menu. You get to choose your courses from the a la carte menu and they portion each course appropriately. At 59 euro for six courses i think this is one of the best values i have ever seen in a restaurant of this quality. It was a meal of surprises and discovery. The two starters, zucchini blossom and the chickpea cake were both 10/10. A symphony of flavors and textures but still true to the ingredients and not at all fussy or precious. The maccheroni was a miss for me, the only false note. The surgeon excellent, and then the strong finish with the saffron parfait. Possibly the most memorable dessert ive ever eaten. In fact i booked a reservation for the following night so that i could taste more of the menu and do a repeat of the saffron parfait. I also discovered a new favorite red, Valpolicello ripasso, a red wine that has two separate fermentations. Highly drinkable medium bodied fruity incredible bouquet. I immediately ordered a case on vivino. The second night was equally excellent; saffron risotto excellent, pork shank too. The adorable young waitress comped me a taste of the famous regional wine amarone to go with the pork. I enjoyed being in the same space as all the bustling young energetic chefs plating the dishes. I just wish my view wasnt blocked by the wall at the bar. It seems this was deliberate to give the diners separation from the prep area but i would have preferred to have had an unobstructed view.

Picked this place because of the glowing 4.7 stars and all the hype. Sat down for dinner, ordered the storione—yes, just the secondi, not the classic Italian way, I know. It was tasty, well-cooked, but honestly? Didn’t blow me away . The service team—mostly young—were polite but clearly cold and rushed . Ended up with a good meal, some decent wine, about €60+ all in. Would I go back? Probably not—this town’s packed with restaurants that deserve a shot before I repeat.

We had a lovely lunch for two. We were kindly taken to our places inside. The white wine per glass was excellent. For starters we had the focaccina and the zucchini flowers. The fried sardines on the focaccina could have been a little more. For the main we had Fegato di vitello and Storione. Both very good. Two coffees afterwards. Paid a little under 100 euro's. Why is it only that you get attention from the staff while you are eating and no longer when you have finished?

Una sorpresa. Non conoscevo questo ristorantino speciale nel centro di Verona, mi ci hanno portata degli amici. Devo dire tutto squisito. Ho ordinato la tartare e la guance tra: carne di prima qualità, gustosa, servita a regola d’arte.
Piatti ben presentati
Bella l’idea di mettere le tovagliette con i pastelli a tavola: anche i grandi così tornano piccoli e spensierati, per un pranzo.
