Hesitant due to the many negative reviews I'd read, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and fast, the wait time was reasonable, and the food was very good and plentiful. Rich and flavorful mussel sauté, crispy and dry fried fish (octopus, mixed seafood, mixed seafood), and the mixed fried vegetables were also excellent. The French fries were excellent. The grilled vegetables were decent. The sgroppino to finish was good.

I've been going there forever, since school, and I've continued for years. Excellent food, including Roman-style pizza. In the summer, the garden is cool and welcoming. The staff is always friendly, even on the busiest evenings. Antonello is always vigilant and keeps everything under control. Excellent!

Then, step out onto the slopes and savor the countryside at the top of the Janiculum Hill. The pizza and meat are delicious. Dining al fresco, weather permitting, is a superb added bonus.

A garden in the heart of Rome that offers a unique atmosphere. At Ristorante Scarpone, the food is truly delicious, with dishes reminiscent of home-cooked meals from times gone by. Special thanks to Mauro, his courteous and professional approach ensured impeccable service. Definitely worth a try.

Il pranzo della domenica è stato spettacolare. Il grande Antonello ci ha accolto come sempre con la sua simpatia e la sua professionalità. Abbiamo gustato degli ottimi antipasti a base di terra tra i quali spiccavano le verdure fritte veramente leggere e gustose. I primi come i secondi sono una garanzia così come i dolci fatti in casa. Locale accogliente, servizio impeccabile per questo angolo di paradiso situato sulla collina di Monteverde lontano dal frastuono della città. A presto.

20/05/2025: Best place! The owners are excellent at what they do. Both food and service were impeccable. I am visiting Rome but will definitely come back when I visit again! Loved it. The fish is so fresh and the flavors so unique!
10/05/2025: We have just returned from a quick dinner at this restaurant. Very kind staff, truly pleasant environment, generous servings but, above all, superlative quality. Finally someone who offers cuisine with sincere and original tastes. To return immediately. Spaghetti with clams, stained, like you don't see anymore. Tuna tartare with strong and not washed out flavours.. Everything exceptional.

20/07/2025: The restaurant looks a bit dated, but it's fantastic! You might easily walk right past it, but I wouldn't. The food is delicious, the selection is extensive, including the desserts. The service is impeccable and friendly. Highly recommended.
11/07/2025: Good evening, what can I say about this restaurant? The food is plentiful and excellent, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is perhaps a little old-fashioned, but that's exactly what makes it so appealing. It feels like you've gone back in time and revisited the beautiful Roman trattorias when the owner hand-cut the ham, and when you saw him observe the customers without disturbing them, keeping a watchful but discreet eye. In short, it's an excellent place to spend a quiet evening without sacrificing the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff.
