In the center of Pisticci, you'll find "L'incontro," a trattoria-pizzeria in a charming location with stone vaults. The staff is kind and friendly, as well as attentive in offering suggestions on delicacies to try. From appetizers (fried peperoni cruschi are a must) to first courses, second courses, and not to mention the pizzas. The cuisine is made with the freshest ingredients and exudes the flavors of the region. The desserts are a must.

We happened to be passing through the neighborhood and stumbled upon the restaurant, where we were warmly welcomed with courtesy and friendliness. We ate delicious, high-quality regional specialties. We definitely recommend it without hesitation. Thank you!

Excellent experience at Ristorante L'Incontro. We had dinner with mixed appetizers, main courses, and pizzas. Desserts and digestifs were also available. Everything was delicious and excellent value. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Alfredo, who is also an excellent wine connoisseur and gave us excellent advice. Congratulations.

A quaint and quite welcoming place. It's a shame they don't follow the menu, or rather, some dishes don't reflect what's written on the menu. If we order four starters of porcini orecchiette and truffle cream, you can't serve us orecchiette with a mix of mushrooms like sautéed in a pan (with all due respect to those who eat them) thinking I won't notice... Furthermore, after having pointed this out to the wait staff, we expected it to at least not be included in the full-price bill! But no! €12 for a simple plate of orecchiette with mushrooms. What a shame!

We stopped for dinner at a table outside, everything was ok, at a certain point the waiters disappeared to reinforce the inside part... a long wait for the 🍕.

09/12/2025: They'd told us about it before we even left, so our expectations were high. Well...it exceeded all expectations. The quality of the food is excellent. You can taste the deliciousness, the products are local, and I must say, everything is excellent. The preparation and presentation of the dishes is meticulously crafted, and they provided clear information about their provenance. From the cheeses and cured meats to the starters and desserts, everything is top-quality and has unforgettable flavors. The local wine is also very good. Not too expensive either. Personally, I'd include it among the must-sees when visiting Matera. Carved into the white limestone rock typical of the area, the aesthetic result is remarkable.

06/11/2025: In my humble opinion, one of the top three restaurants in the entire region. The food is excellent (very varied and thoughtful appetizers), generous first courses, and incredibly high-quality meat-based second courses. The atmosphere is a dream. The wait staff is professional, especially Mimmo, an excellent host who takes great care of his guests. The quality/price ratio is reasonable. Rotondella, a wonderful little village.
04/11/2025: Great Basilicata’s food experience. Our menù was simple like traditional Basilicata food, yet sooo good. Frizzuli and Cruschi are the must-try dishes to have a glimpse of the taste of Basilicata. Prices were super honest, quantities more than average and the service was rustic like the one you can have at home. Really, a place which deserves to be visited, maybe more than once!
