Excellent food, very kind staff

A beautiful surprise. Excellent and varied food, friendly and efficient service, welcoming place. Uzbek cuisine combines many influences, from Russian to oriental cuisine, but it has a personality all its own.

Small and well-kept. The staff is very kind and competent. The food was a very pleasant surprise! We divided appetizers (a mimosa salad, spiced meat parcels, a cheese focaccia), ravioli (stuffed with potatoes and stuffed with meat), a "risotto" (single dish with rice, meat, vegetables), a stew of spicy chicken, the desserts (sponge cake and chocolate cream and the Uzbek version of struffoli), all really tasty, fragrant and artfully cooked; a bottle of wine, vodka and coffee. We willingly spent €60 each. Highly recommended! Update: we tasted new dishes (tabaka, chicken marinated with a special sauce; lyulya kebab, meat skewers, typical Uzbek desserts with honey) and tried the Georgian wine... I confirm the goodness of the cuisine and the exceptional nature of the service. Not to be missed!

It was the first time in an Uzbek restaurant, although we found similarities with the Georgian cuisine that we had already tried. The place is nice and quite intimate. There is no tasting menu, so we chose à la carte and shared between two: somsa (as a starter), the legendary Khachapuri and a Chashishuli (a sort of meat in sauce). It was all very good and the two of us left definitely more than full. This had been our initial order, the waitress had warned us that it would be small and we had therefore added a plov on her advice. However, we had to ask for it not to arrive because already after the Khachapuri we were quite full and would not have been able to eat two more dishes. So keep in mind that with the portions and type of cuisine it is easy to get full. For the above, we spent €58 between us.

Finalmente ho provato Uzbek dopo tanto tempo che mi promettevo di andarci. Che dire, attesa ripagata! Per quanto il conto sia medio-alto (ca. 120€ in due), l'esperienza è stata ottima e sento di promuoverla sotto ogni punto di vista: locale elegante, chic/raffinato con richiami alla cultura originaria; personale super cordiale, sempre pronto a dare spiegazioni o consigli sui piatti (un plauso in particolare alla ragazza in sala, una preparazione eccellente e un sorriso accogliente); menù accattivante, non posso dire quanto sia fedele alle origini, ma sicuramente tutto preparato con maestria e gusti convincenti, dagli antipasti al risotto e al dessert, vodka finale compresa. Forse non per tutti i palati, ma l'esperienza appaga la curiosità e consiglio indubbiamente di provare. A presto!

Devo dire che dopo un'esperienza non ottima, in un altro ristorante Georgiano di Milano, Uzbeck si è dimostrato davvero un altro pianeta. Il locale è accogliente, elegante ed intimo, adatto ad ogni tipo di occasione. Il personale è sempre sorridente, accogliente e molto disponibile ad ogni spiegazione. Il cibo è ottimo e nelle giuste quantità, noi abbiamo preso varie portate che abbiamo condiviso. Per caso, la nostra scelta è andata su cibi tutti georgiani, ma si possono trovare varie scelte di cibi provenienti dall'area "ex-sovietica" (nella sua eccezione migliore). Anche il vino, preso con una certa perplessità (Georgiano anche quello) è risultato adeguato al cibo. Purtroppo non conosco il conto, perchè invitato e non posso commentare la sua adeguatezza. Da quanto ho visto sul menu secondo me siamo stati sui 70/80 Euro a testa. Sicuramente da provare! Buon appetito da Amigdala
