Conveniently located near the highway exit, after reading excellent reviews, we stopped for lunch and were very pleased. The restaurant is beautiful and welcoming, surrounded by greenery with a spacious interior, an outdoor veranda, and ample shade. The decor was very elegant, and the service was excellent. We ate typical Roman appetizers and first courses, all very good.

Mattia was amazing server, he helped select a tour of the menu for us that was 10/10! The beef carpaccio was exquisite and the Parma ham with house burrata mozzarella and focaccia was incredible! What a wonderful place!

Beautiful location, professional service, but we were disappointed with the food because, despite its excellent credentials, they served us a cockerel that was anything but fresh—you could smell it. This happened after we pointed out that the bruschetta served before wasn't top-notch either (which was later replaced).

If you're looking for a restaurant just outside Rome, surrounded by greenery, in a peaceful setting where you can enjoy excellent cuisine, this is the place for you... Family-run, Lele, the owner, knows how to welcome every guest and make them feel at home from the moment they enter to the moment they leave. He offers a menu that uses top-quality ingredients, a wood-fired oven to enjoy the numerous meat options and seasonal first courses, not to mention the desserts... all in a homey atmosphere... Excellent wine and dessert list...hats off!

We went for lunch on May 1st with my family: the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were extremely friendly, explaining things like what was off the menu. I had the tagliata and fillet steak, sharing it with my brother. Everything was very good and the prices were reasonable.

The place is very nice. The appetizers were very good. The service was excellent. The meat was delicious. The only flaw was the very bland first courses (the Gricia was requested without cheese, and the Amatriciana was also ordered), and the pecorino cheese didn't really add flavor to the dish. It certainly helps, but if you could have added some cooking water to the mix, it would have been a good dish, along with the guanciale. Of course, they were included in the bill, and we paid for them. As a restaurateur, I would have thought about this for a moment. Ultimately, I recommend it, and I think I'll be back.

For years now, "C'era una volta" has been my family's first and only choice when dining out. A place suitable for any occasion, they also organize parties and events with great attention to detail. The background music while dining is very pleasant throughout the restaurant, and the prices are in line with the area and the city—if not below average—and it's also worth noting that they allow and welcome dogs, providing them with a free bowl of water.
