Le Jardin de Russie In Roma

We always come here for lunch in Rome. The menu changes and everything is enticing sbd delicious. The service impeccable and the atmosphere cannot be beat. We are always amazed this restaurant does not have a Michelin star. We have eaten in a half dozen starred restaurants in the last six weeks. None as outstanding as Le Jardin.

Dining at Le Jardin was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing—beautifully presented, full of flavor, and perfectly balanced. The ambience created the ideal atmosphere, elegant yet welcoming, and every detail felt carefully thought out. The staff were impeccable, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely warm in their service. A special mention goes to our waiter, Daniel, who was fantastic—professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. Not to mention his photos of us were amazing. He truly elevated the entire dining experience. Le Jardin is the kind of restaurant that makes an evening feel special, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I wish I could give this restaurant a higher score then 5. One of the best restaurants I’ve been lucky to eat at in Rome, everything from service to food is simply the best. Our waiter went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic time under his care. The chefs obviously know what they are doing and WOW what a beautiful setting this restaurant is located in. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants the best food in Rome.

Inside of Hotel de Russie deeper in the garden (jardin) which makes you feel like in some forest resort, and it is unusual for the center of the vibrant city. Here one can completely forget about crowds and noise outside. The food and the wine list are excellent. Super attentive personnel.

An excellent restaurant in the heart of Rome. Surrounded by lush greenery, the food is top-notch, and so is the service. Kudos to Julio for his attention to detail. I highly recommend it.

I must say, I was truly taken aback by how, even in the height of the season, the tables in the garden of Hotel de Russie were not completely besieged. It’s worth clarifying that the hotel bears absolutely no capitalistic or contemporary political ties to present-day Russia. Instead, its name dates back to the 19th century: originally known as the “Grand Hôtel de Russie et des Iles Britanniques,” it earned this designation because it was favored by members of the Russian Imperial House, Russian intellectuals, and Romantic painters during their stays in Rome. Perhaps more evocatively, the French poet Jean Cocteau—alongside the likes of Picasso and Stravinsky—declared the hotel “paradise on earth” in 1917, reminiscing about how they could pick oranges from their bedroom windows in the serene terraced garden. Yes, the experience commanded a high price—but for good reason. The quality is simply beyond reproach, each dish executed with exquisite precision, and the timing of the service flows with a metronomic rhythm, delivered with extraordinary tact. The garden is an oasis—intimate yet grand, and entirely deserving of its legend.

The atmosphere is gorgeous. A beautiful courtyard restaurant with historical significance for having influenced the work of Picasso and Cocteau, amongst other artists. Vladimir, Eduardo, Frederico, and team provided excellent service and care. Thank you so much for the kindness and thoughtful attention.
