Le Gîte aux Marroniers In Etroubles

First of all, I'm really struggling to understand some of the reviews I've read. I think the overly negative ones should be treated as they do on Airbnb, where both the guest and the host write a review. Giving very low ratings for a mix-up is unfair, and the potential impact on a business can be severe. I'll just say that, in addition to having eaten some very good dishes, I also paid a fair price. The thing that struck me most positively is that I understand they don't take too many reservations. I mean, they had the option of eating outside, but they didn't fill up the entire restaurant. This was to ensure they could cook well. This really struck me positively. I think those who forgo a financial income to do their job well are rare. I was there to celebrate my mom's birthday, if we really want to find a fault when they brought the cake with the candle for my mom the numbers were backwards i.e. 49 instead of 94 but it didn't take long to fix the problem and it was the starting point for a laugh. 😄

Very good, friendly staff, great atmosphere, I recommend it and will definitely come back.

A beautiful restaurant, decorated in local style, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, in the heart of Etroubles. The food was excellent. We had a baked tometta with rustic bread and chestnuts, the tartiflette, and the potato rosti, and both were truly delicious. The service was welcoming and pleasant, making us feel at ease (our little girl even got to play with the dog after the meal). A lovely discovery. We'll be back.
