The food is absolutely excellent and locally sourced, all made with local ingredients (and I'd like to see that side of the mountain is amazing for everything, from cheese to meat... From mushrooms to vegetables, the eggs from the Casellacce hens deserve a prize - beautiful to look at, delicious to eat... spoiler alert, they also sell them if you want to take them home, and I already know you'll want to!) for meat lovers, that's also amazing, maybe I don't recommend it to vegans 😅

A vast natural setting, surrounded by animals and lush greenery, the exceptional dishes, from appetizers to dessert, are all surrounded by a beautiful view of the Modena mountains. Excellent value for money. An oasis of peace where you can recharge your batteries.

Restaurant review. I expected more, given what I'd heard. As for the food, they brought us the menu without asking or even asking. It was all game: tagliatelle with wild boar, sedanini (locally bought) with chanterelles, a very good sliced venison, a very flavorful roast wild boar, and a frozen tiramisu. What I missed was that, even though the waitress came promptly and precisely to bring us everything in perfect condition, no other member of the staff, owner, or chef, showed up to exchange a word or a greeting. This left me a bit disappointed, considering such a long trip and such a beautiful place. Maybe they had other commitments, but for the price, I would have expected added value.

Wonderful experience. We had a wonderful time. We ate very well and abundantly. The room was perfect, surrounded by nature. The staff was welcoming and extremely kind. Highly recommended.

01/07/2026: The welcome was unpleasant. We had reserved a table inside, but it was scorching hot outside. They had a bit of trouble getting it ready. The atmosphere was dim and a bit dreary. On the other hand, the food was very good, but the portions were very small. The service was good, and the waiter was very attentive. The bread and the much-vaunted homemade focaccia were hard...inedible. The wine list was extensive, but the prices were overpriced.
30/06/2026: Excellent, I've always had a good experience. Local cuisine is excellent, and prices are commensurate with the quality of the products.

05/06/2026: During our visit to Carpi, after spending a busy morning at the Museum of the Deportation and the memorial sites in Fossoli, we stopped for lunch at Piadineria Butega Romagnola Carpi, a pleasant discovery in the heart of the city. I chose a piadina with cooked ham, arugula, and cheese, while my brother opted for a delicious combination of brie and zucchini. Both were flavorful, well-filled, and made with quality ingredients. The piadina was fragrant and very tasty, perfect for a quick but satisfying break. We ate lunch at the restaurant's tables, immersed in the pleasant hustle and bustle of the historic center. The atmosphere was simple, authentic, and welcoming, made even more pleasant by the kindness and friendliness of the ladies who served us. The prices are absolutely reasonable, and the quality/price ratio is truly excellent. Carpi is a very charming town, with a splendid square that is certainly worth a visit. After taking time to reminisce and explore history, treating yourself to a moment of refreshment at Butega Romagnola was the perfect choice. Recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy a delicious piadina in a simple, authentic, and welcoming atmosphere.
