Unique location, below street level. Very good first and second courses (the duck ragù is better than the classic Tuscan ragù). Very friendly and helpful staff. You can also visit the 1st-century BC Roman cistern, which is inside the restaurant. Average Volterra prices: we took advantage of a discount with The Fork.

The food is good and the place is very charming, apart from some of the decor choices that leave me a little perplexed because they don't match the truly unique location: the cellars of a sixteenth-century palace. The service is extremely courteous and even appropriately fast. Worth noting is the option to visit a Roman cistern directly from the restaurant.

Excellent dinner, excellent products, and very friendly staff. The meat was excellent, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended!

14/10/2025: The restaurant is located atop Monte Serra, surrounded by greenery. The cuisine is traditional Tuscan and a journey back in time to grandma's kitchen. The meat was perfect, accompanied by polenta and amazing fried mushrooms. Definitely recommended. The house wine was also excellent.
