We had heard this Osteria praised in the afternoon by our guide in the Murgia Park and so, in the evening, passing by by chance, we decided to try it. Excellent choice. Familiar and characteristic environment, heated, with fossils embedded in the calcarenite ashlars; friendly and fast service; excellent typical food, among which, for my taste, stands out the pancotto with turnips and crusco pepper and the bread pie with fruit and citrus cream. Excellent value for money: for two starters, two first courses, two desserts, two beers, water and service, we spent just over 30 euros each. Recommended tavern.

Ci ritorneremo volentieri.

We came to eat in this typical Matera tavern and I must say that we really enjoyed it
The owner immediately welcomed us with a smile and kindly let us sit with our two dogs. Typical menu with particular attention to cod
I took the dish with cod and bran peppers. Very good!!! The appetizer with local cured meats and cheeses presented in an original way was also very good
The still white wine was really excellent
I recommend it

Fearing the tourist restaurant, we looked for a while before deciding on this restaurant. At the table, Italians, and local specialties on the menu. Special mention for the bean puree with chicory. Rustic service, good wines, fairly reasonable prices. A good address

We had a dinner at this restaurant. First sign was good restaurant was full with Italians.
Appetizer was really good. Grilled Lamb with backed potatoes was excellent. The Lamb was melting in my mouth.
Beefsteak was executed as well. In the end we had Tiramisu it tasted like a cloud and with espresso it was just perfect.

Great restaurant, great food, great people.
We had dinner in this very welcoming and well-located restaurant in the center of Matera, and I can say that it was a truly pleasant experience. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was fast, which made our dinner even more enjoyable.
To start, we shared an excellent beef carpaccio with rocket and parmesan, a fresh and tasty appetizer, with quality and really soft meat. As first courses, we chose the Miskiglio with tomato, cheese and basil, a typical dish from Matera: the pasta was cooked perfectly, creamy and tasty. The Troccoli with bran and ricotta were also very good, with the bran pepper adding a special touch, even if the dish was a little bland.
For second courses, we opted for baked lamb and entrecotes: really soft meat cooked just right, which fully satisfied us. The side dish of baked potatoes, although a little burnt and lacking in salt, did not ruin the experience, although I would have preferred more uniform and crunchy cooking.
We accompanied everything with a good red wine, which unfortunately was a little expensive (€14 for less than half a liter), but still of quality.
In general, the food was delicious and the quality of the raw materials was noticeable in every dish. This restaurant is not at all one of those places for tourists, but a true corner of authenticity that I highly recommend to anyone passing through Matera. Only advice: book in advance, because the place is very popular. Excellent value for money, even if the wine might be a little expensive.
