L'Anice Stellato In Venezia

A very good experience; the meal was very elaborate, and the price was ultimately no higher than a tourist restaurant, but with added quality.

Overall disappointing. We opted for the nine-course tasting menu. The dishes weren't bad, but they weren't up to par for the price. They were rather bland or uninteresting, and often lacked balance and execution.

Amazing service, amazing food, go for it without hesitation!

A truly excellent Venetian restaurant, where everything is cooked with seasonal produce sourced from small local producers. A selection of natural wines is available, and the sommelier can recommend some. All this in a warm and inviting setting.

I've been to Anice Stellato several times and it wasn't the same as I remembered. We chose the tasting menu, where you're guided by the menu. There are nine courses. Not all of them are equally good. Rather expensive.

We ate there twice... in the same day ! When we first arrived to Venise we thought we were gonna fast for two day's because of all the really touristic / expensive/ bad restaurants but then we found Osteria Anice Stellato ! The wine selection is out of this world, better than many restaurants in Paris, from rare champagne's to other options such as pet nat that were very good. The other wines we tried were also very original but well chosen by the staff and made great parings with the food. If you are a wine afficionado this is definitely a place for you ! The food is delicious, close to perfection, probably the best sole meunière I ever had ! They propose a tasting menu with wine paring obviously. Very good option because everything was very high level. Even the bread is good ! And they choose local and fresh products to make some typical Venetian food. Also, the restaurant is nicely located in a quieter part of the city and is very well decorated . Luigi and his team were very friendly and competent and we had a great time thanks to them !

If perfection exists, I think I found it in this magnificent restaurant. The decor is impeccable, from the lighting to the choice of materials, including the table arrangements. The wine list would put Parisian restaurants to shame, with superb grower champagnes and enticing natural wines. The service is impeccably spontaneous, a touching ballet, extremely attentive, with excellent advice, a great sense of humor, and always a kind word. And as for the dishes… a masterful diversity, bold and honest flavors, with each seasoning perfectly balanced. The dishes are truly well-prepared, unfussy, yet impactful from start to finish. We had lunch there and loved it so much that we returned five hours later for dinner. I could return to Venice just to enjoy this enchanting haven, far from the tourist crowds. P.S.: If you meet an old lady who tries to discourage you from going, don't listen to her; she's just a grumpy neighbor.

This could be the most underrated dining experience in Venice. Thoughtful dishes and well-curated wines on one of the cities quietest and most charming canals.

Recommended by the B&B where we stayed, the restaurant is located in the Cannaregio neighborhood, in a quiet, authentic area far from the tourist crowds. We chose a tasting menu at the recommendation of the young man (I believe the owner or partner) to better understand the restaurant's philosophy. We also let them choose the wine. We definitely found quality and authenticity in the dishes served, and drank a good natural wine. The service was also good; the young woman who welcomed and served us was always available and smiling. The young man was kind and attentive in suggesting the food and wine options. If I had to make a comment, the man seemed slightly annoyed when we asked for a wine that, he said, didn't match the menu, an attitude I believe was more due to an overconfidence when it comes to wine. I recommend always respecting customers' choices, even when they may go against supposed "pairing rules." Tastes are always subjective. That said, I'll reiterate that the recommended wine was really good. The sore point, considering the bill, is the portions served; we'd been told in advance that the restaurant's philosophy is to leave feeling full but not stuffed, but I think the portion sizes need reconsidering. Ultimately, the quality/price ratio is okay, but the portion sizes could be improved.

The food is truly excellent, made with quality ingredients and following the slow food concept. The service is attentive and friendly. It's rare to find a restaurant like this in Venice. The quality and price are fair. Recommended.
