Proprio dietro le mura, all'ingresso di Barga, a due passi dal Duomo, L'Altana è un ottimo posto sotto tutti i punti di vista: personale gentile e rapido, atmosfera piacevole e soprattutto alta qualità delle proposte gastronomiche a un prezzo onesto. Consiglio i maccheroni al tartufo (tartufo vero...) e tutti i primi fatti in casa; il filetto di maiale al pepe verde, semplice ma gustosissimo; i contorni con sformati di verdura e il tiramisù fra i dessert. Ottimo anche il vino della casa. Esperienza da ripetere...

A refined but at the same time welcoming environment with excellent food prepared with care.
Staff very attentive to customer needs, we felt at ease (thank you for the toys you brought us to keep the children at bay and for your kindness). Amazing fresh homemade pasta, equally delicious flan and side dishes and succulent meat. Desserts prepared with attention and first choice ingredients. The wine is also good. What can I say, on a rainy day you were a magnificent positive note.

Dinner as a couple before leaving. Small but welcoming place. Very good traditional cuisine with quality raw materials. If you want to eat well, without frills and savor genuine flavours, definitely worth a try.
Prices in line with quality and location.
If you can eat outside in front of the wall door, an absolute plus

A very good place for lunch. I enjoyed pasta with truffles, liver and onions and ice cream and apple pie. Great atmosphere and friendly service.

Abbiamo pranzato in questo locale nel giorno di Pasquetta senza prenotazione. Abbiamo ordinato due secondi: tagliata ai carciofi e bistecca di cinta senese alla griglia con relativi contorni. La prima era buonissima, tenera come il burro e cotta alla perfezione. La cinta senese dal menù era prevista ai semi di finocchio, ma noi abbiamo preferito alla griglia e ci hanno gentilmente accontentato con questo fuori menù. Ottimo anche questo piatto. Per finire gelato alla crema delizioso. Personale discreto e gentile, prezzi adeguati.

Certainly if I return to Barga, I certainly won't go to have lunch at the Altana restaurant... small environment... not bright... I felt like I was in the attic... we didn't eat badly... in short... .but the price!!!!....let's not talk about it....certainly for a tourist who goes to visit Barga, a small medieval center that certainly cannot book and know.....but..... .
